I sold the burst / tort / blocks SX PJ I had built - I just couldn't get it to play as nice as it looked. I'm going to build it again, but this time with the real stuff.

Going P+Big Split would definitely take care of the PJ pickup balance thing, although personally out of a PJ bass I normally want P, "P with a tiny bit extra bark," and J bridge pickup soloed.

That's cool! Kind of struck me as one of the exotic wood Fender style necks/bodies/instruments and anodized Aluminum pickguards that Schecter Guitar Research offered in the late '70s/early '80s.

thanks. it's a pretty sweet bass. you did guess correctly, as it was made by schecter in the late 70s/early 80s. I'm not sure exactly when, though.

'95 American Standard with a swapped neck (originally rosewood) and a Lindy Fralin Split Jazz in the bridge position. The knobs are volume / volume.

I just sold a oft-neglected 2012 American Deluxe Jazz because I keep coming back to this one.
