nice HRP. i've got a black '99 as well. if possible, can you measure the distance from the treble coil on the P to the jazz pickup? the bridge pickup on mine is a bit further back than most of the HRPs that i see.

My #1 in the fleet: Yamaha BB300 with Jazz pickup and Badass II bridge, wired incorrectly. I 'routed' the J-pickup hole with a hole saw. Foolish thing to do. As crappy as it looks, I'm afraid to make it look nicer or rewire it because I don't want to mess up the tone. It sounds great!

You could always add a pickguard or pickup rings, without affecting it tonally.

Distance between pup covers -1 11/32"
Distance between center of poles - 2 1/4"
Distance from front of bridge to center of jazz pole- 2 1/8"

Schechter Diamond P. Great neck, good punch, stable across the board. Keeping it in the family, my oldest grandson has it now.

thanks. it confirms to me that some of these had different bridge pickup spacing as the distance between pup covers on mine is 1 3/4", about 3/8" closer to the bridge than yours.

The tech that routed the pick-up had a little mishap, so it's not perfect. Bugs me a bit...considering a re-route to a big split or fat stack to make it right.

Currently sporting the original P pickup and a DiMarzio UltraJazz. Actually sounds fantastic...I'd hate to mess with it.
