Six String Peavey Cirrus Thread

I still haven't run across one I like more! The only thing I don't like is that the headstock overlay is very fragile. You can see in one of the pics above where it is chipped in two places.

Do you know how many were produced before it was a custom option? It couldn't have been many. I'm kind of surprised about the headstock overlay. It just shows that's it's appreciated, lol. -Luke

No idea. I think they were around for about 3 years before they started taking custom orders. The dealer where I bought mine got them from the Peavey NAMM display that year. Peavey had a tiger eye 4, 5 and 6, and the dealer scooped all three of them up. They were all three on display when I bought mine. The four had an even nicer top than my six! Other than those 3, I have never seen another in person, but it was shown as a model on the website for 3 years, so I'm sure there are a few out there.somebody here had a peacock blue one a year newer than mine, after Peavey started offering them in more colors.

I finally found a suitable high C, although I mis-matched since the Elixer strings they originally sold me were too damn short. The high C worked and I had a plethora of 5 string sets.

Haven't plugged it in, but I restrung it yesterday. There were a few small dings in the body, but nothing too severe. As I was about to plug it in, the back of the neck felt kinda junky, so I decided to re-oil it.

Here's one from the ebay photo. I tried to upload it to photobucket, but that appears to be down at the moment.

Where did you get the info on the new models? I checked the website but all they had were a few leftovers from the old production Cirri.

I was under the impression that Cirrus production was just being moved to another factory and everything would be rolling again this summer.

I also see that the regular 3 band EQ in the "custom options" section is listed as "passive." That doesn't even seem to make sense.

That's all from the Peavey website. -Luke
