I started skating around ‘86 ‘til about ‘91-‘92. Then picked it up again in ‘94 to about ‘98...then again in about 2009-2011.
Now I’m too old and fat to Ollie down flights of stairs or over fire hydrants.
I do have an 8x11 photo of myself From about ‘96 Ollie-ing over a steel trash can.

when I skated up to ‘92, all the decks were huge. Then when I picked it up again in ‘94, all the decks looked like the old ‘80s freestyle models like the Rodney Mullen. They were so much easier to flip!

I just came in from a session in this 100* heat - road is pretty tacky, but still fun to slide.

Not too bad....

Wife's is in physical therapy so I'm good.
She just wants to be sure there isn't a small broken bone.

But yeah.....hurts. But I could be way worse, I got off lucky.

Was stupid of me, should have used my usual board and swap wheels instead of the old crap one.
Did the tranny 9 times easy.....10th.....crunch. i kinda deserved it

Been riding the Zoo York a lot lately,. The school across the street has a nice football field length of asphalt, nice down grade in one direction. Just enough room to do a high speed turn around, then get a bit of a workout kicking back to the other end.
Used to ride bowls quite a bit, haven't gone in a while since my partners moved away. We'd go on pretty regular road trips to find great bowls.

Have you guys tried the new Powell dragon wheels?

They are amazing. They feel like soft wheels but are hard like a regular wheel. I could never find a spitfire wheel that I liked, OJ’s chunk easily.

OJ are garbage, exploded one wheel while bombing a hill.

Yep. I chunked one within minutes of purchasing and the terrain wasn’t that rough. They do have good customer service though.

Best cruiser wheels are Powells, I can’t skate any parks or tricks anymore.
My knees and body are completely destroyed

Is it me but prices for decks have gone up? Before, prices had been consistent between brands at around $55 and $60. Got myself a pizza deck that was on sale for $50

New setup. I even got “relic’d” grip tape. (don’t judge) the graphic feels worn out and if you look closer it seems like it has been used but it’s brand new.
