That is funny. They could have at least got a hat that fit for this commercial. You could fly a 747 in front of one of his ears, over his head and out the other side in front of his other ear and never touch head nor hat.

That post certainly seems to imply that "different perception" based on physical differences is not standard operating procedure for everyone - regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or language.

So now people have decided to lose respect for the woman because they disagree with her promoting a fast food joint?

This reminds me of the Jim Gaffigan bit about fast food....McDonalds serves billions of people, yet you can't find anyone to admit they eat there. It's like they treat fast food like an ex-lover...yeah, I used to go there, but I don't anymore.

I may get disappointed for a brief second if I see an artist I respect promote something that I dont like. But I dont maintain those associations for very long, about the length of the commercial.

As for McDonalds, I havent eaten there in almost 13 years, with the exception of one month, maybe 5 years ago, where I ate there twice out of convenience (and really regretted it the second time).

Eh...

I've worked in fast food, I've seen Supersize me, I've seen Fast Food Nation, I've been inside slaughterhouses, I've been on concentrated feeding operation feedlots...

...and I still go to McDonalds.

It's like the old saying - ""Laws are like sausages — it is better not to see them being made"

I've seen sausage being made, I've made sausage, and it still tastes just fine.

Everyone trashes McDonalds. Everyone claims to get sick from eating McD's food. Etc. Yet McDonalds is doing fine business-wise. Quite a mystery.

I clicked on the link, waited through the mandatory video commercial, which played fine, but then the actual video of the commercial refused to play. I looked for it on YouTube, found multiple copies, but they all seem to be lengthy vlog-type videos with a bunch of yapping by people that I don't care about (the people or their yapping). Some of the videos contain more commercials. Bah.

I suspect that SassyS understands that everyone is seen differently. The point I feel implied is that there are many negative assumptions made about black women that others don't face. I am not saying that only black women or men only have to deal with negative perceptions.

Exactly. I wasn't saying that other people don't get assumptions made about them. It's just that there are certain negative assumptions that would be made about a black female that would not be applied to a white female, for example. Maybe I should have been clearer in my previous post.

Take color out of it. If a person sees a thin person eating a piece of chicken or some fries, they are just getting a snack. The same person seeing a fat person eat might very well make negative assumptions about the fat person being greedy.
