Well, let me look and see. Okay, I am back. Here goes:

1. tuner with spare batteries for both tuner and my active basses (when I use one)
2. strap
3. Monster Cable
4. cleaning and wiping cloth
5. a couple of picks (I rarely use one, but they come in handy when you hurt some of your fingers or it is requested for a song)
6. a set of pre-cut strings in case one breaks :hmm:
7. pencil/pad for notes
8. XLR matching box just in case I need to directly go into the system or my amp dies :crying: (has never happened, but be prepared)
9. XLR chord

Wow, truly the instrument case is the man's purse. Here's what's in my gig bag:

Bass, strap, cord, picks
amp power cord, tuner, musician's ear plugs (invaluable), in-ear monitors,
extra strings, screw driver, allen wrenches, fuses
music, and on Sundays, a Bible. (I love my Bible case, it has room for my bass too)

Funny you should ask, I filled my gig bag minutes ago.
I use a double bag so it can either carry 2 instruments or a lot of stuff.
- Notebook, pens (bic, paper pen and overliner)
- 20 € bill
- custom ear plugs
- drummer sticks (always useful)
- spare set of strings with cutting plyers, mini screwdriver and allen keys, soldering iron, solder, solder pump
- jack and spare jack, power cable for amp, spare XLR cable, spare patch cables for effects, spare 9V battery
- handheld tuner
- a bass (duh)
- bottle of sparkling water, apples, cookies
- a big cotton cloth to wipe strings
- a little box with picks
- music sheet stand
- folding bass stand

Pretty simple stuff, always useful.

I typically don't carry much in my cases, other than strap and lyric sheets, maybe a small piece of foam rubber to cram under the strings. I have a leather gig bag that I got in Tijuana, that weighs about 40 pounds fully loaded, for all the other stuff. It contains everything from cables and spare strings to New Years noisemakers and Mardi Gras beads. If it gets any heavier, I'm gonna have to hire somebody to carry it!

Wow.. I never really took inventory before.. Here's what I found in my Roscoe Hardshell case:

The Bass (of course)
Mogami 18' cable
Strap
Two 9V batteries
Polishing cloth that I never use
Cheapo Korg tuner (backup for the one in my rack)
7-pack of tiny screwdrivers
Allen wrenches
A couple of set lists
Keys to the case (I don't know why they even bother)
Razor blades (Not just for cocaine!!)
Certificate of Authenticity (for the bass, not the razor blades)
Receipt for bass, which probably shouldn't be in the case..
Wire twist ties (?)
A couple of rubber bands (?)

And that's it.

In bass bag

Strap
small 3 ring binder for set list, notes, music, etc

phillips head screw driver
