source audio c4

Hi

i created a new thread but was advised to seek help in other source audio threads , and this one seems to be a good place to ask ...

I love the C4 , great sound and endless possibilities

For some presets I use a clean sound going to pedalboard chain and to the amp , and the synth sound from output 2 to the PA.

However , when the pedal is bypassed , how can i mute the sound going out of output 2 ??!
How do you have everything connected, and are you using true bypass?

The only thing that comes to mind is a kludge: create a preset that mutes one channel, and then use MIDI to switch to that preset instead of using the bypass switch. There are folks here with vastly greater knowledge of the C4 than I, so they may have some sneaky bypass tricks that aren't obvious.

There should be a MIDI command in the map which allows you to choose the routing method so you might even be able to just program that CC to a switch on a MIDI controller to switch it to mono out at the same time that it goes into bypass (assign both messages to the same switch;don’t forget to set it to flip back when you send your message to engage the pedal).

ohhh interesting , will check it out

Is there a dedicated thread for patches?
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's slightly overwhelmed by the amount of patches...
I just keep clicking :roflmao:. And then bam, I get hit with one of those really loud ones (awful).

For those who are well versed with the pedal:
Is there a "best"/"favorite" MF101? MuTron? Greg Phillinganes? Stevie? etc.

Also, controlled I'm sure has been discussed a million times, but is there a consensus favorite?
Disaster Area Designs?

Thanks in advance team.

Actually, I might be talking nonsense. As it happens the C4 is still incomplete

I’ve done a couple of MF101 inspired sounds, MuTron Microtron stuff and a very good rendition of a Greg P. patch “We Can Work It Out”.

What controller you use depends very much on what you want to do. If all you want is ability to scroll patches, send expression and a couple of CC messages then the DA is pretty good. Otherwise Morningstar does a lot of deep stuff whilst being easy to use. There are some other things brewing though that are going to be pretty amazing.

I thought I read somewhere that there is almost no coding space remaining on the C4? So if it is incomplete then how will it ever be finished?

I love the tones of the C4 but I'm currently having some connection issues with the Hub. The hub just stops responding about every 10 minutes and I need to cycle power to get it to respond again. Support told me it is a bug that is being fixed in a future Hub update and they're letting me use the beta firmware. I'll report back with my findings.

I meant incomplete as in, the list of assignments was missing. I would hope that that code space was already reserved for those things, it’s just that something went wrong somewhere. There was a similar situation with the harmoniser and I went through it all thoroughly and documented what was going on and what it should be and worked with Jesse to get it fixed. I’m guessing he’s got a lot going on at the moment, hopefully working on cloning himself so that he can eventually get to it.

Can you edit a patch someone made in the community?
I’m digging the “Thriller” patch, but want to adjust the master or overall volume. Can I adjust and save it for myself?
Yes, of course. Load it into your editor, make the tweaks and then save as a new file name (or overwrite the original file).

Hey all, just purchased the C4 - maybe a stupid question but, where can I get a cable to plug into my iPad to use the Neuro editor?

Mini-B-5pin to Lighting, correct?

I've searched Apple.ca and primecables.ca with no luck.
Neuro App on a tablet or phone is done with a TRS aux cable. If your iPad doesn't have a headphone jack, you need a lightning to headphone adapter.

For the newer (post-C4) pedals you’d use a Camera Connection Kit.

For the C4 via the audio jacks you need the Lightning-to-3.5mm-audio dongle. Save yourself the headache and buy an Apple one as some third-party stuff doesn’t function properly.

Could someone point me to a specific sound please?

I'm looking for a OC2 with no direct signal,.... but being able to play in the same octave (instead of an octave down).

In other words, I'm looking for that Sub type of sound but with the ability to play all over the neck including the low B string.

Essentially it's the only reason I wanted to try out the C4.

Benner
