source audio c4

Haven’t gotten one yet. I just recently got the c4 and none of my other pedals are midi So I’m just now looking into those. Looks like the dmc micro or micro pro might do the trick. But I’m curious what other midi controllers are compatible. I don’t think I’d mount any that are bigger than the micro on my board because of space issues but if something like the tech 21 midi moose which I seem to be able to find plenty of for sale used at a good price is compatable so Id have more footwitches to select presets without scrolling that might work better for my use. Im definitely not planning on using a hundred something presets but quickly being able to jump around between a few would be nice. I’m thinking if I got one shaped like the midi moose I could just keep a 1/4” piece of foam in my pedaltrain mini case and stack the midi controller on top of my pedals protecting them with the foam between for transport and then just have it on the floor when playing.
Take a look at the Morningstar MC3 as that has the best feature set-to-size ratio. (You’d need some kind of host device though, either SA Hub or Disaster Area Micro Ghost to the C4.)

Is it true the dmc micro doesn’t need a separate host? I’m not seeing people use the hub with it
Yes, dmc gen 3 controllers have onboard usb midi hosting capabilities built in. The Xsonic airstep is the only other controller with this capability that we know of. Most all others require a host device between the controller and the pedal.

The DMC Micro and the Micro Ghost are two different products:
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

The Micro can interface directly with the C4 via USB.

If you were to use the MC3 the. You’d need the Micro Ghost or Source Audio Hub as an interface.

I think tonight will consist of me cracking a beer and playing with some unexplored community presets on the C4. It's been a while since I went in and grabbed/created anything new. Any suggestions or favorites? Not looking for particular sounds - just good and/or weird...
Plan on doing the same my next day off work. Spent my lunch break scrolling through the app. Couple I’m really looking forward to checking out are like imitations of the Mel9 flute and cello sounds and the Synth lead sound for lingus by snarky puppy lol

Loads of great sounds and don't forget that Spectrum sounds also run on the C4.

Hi all.
I'm having trouble with the expression pedal. I'm using a 1/4" to 1/8" TRS cable. I understand that from a standard exp pedal I should invert the wiring. But I'm using this Mooer exp pedal with two out options.
So if I use the standard cable out of the RTS option, it should work, right?
It's not working and I don't know what I'm missing.

Have you enabled expression and assigned it to control anything?

hi all, i purchased the C4, i'm playing with it, exploring, but i have one question now:
my user name and password won't get me logged into....anything! when i attempt to log in: the app/pedal/site just scrolls, never a 'connection'. i'm able to download presets and import them (make changes and export them, too), but no ability to update FW or to use any other goodies that might be user/password dependent...

any suggestions? TIA

best to email [email protected] to get a password reset most likely.

Well, not for the first time,my C4 was losing connection at the gig tonight. I run an ipad with Midipad Pro to control the C4. Straight from the mini usb on the C4 to the lightning input on the ipad. Works great,....when it works. Unplugged it from the ipad and connection restored, for a little while. Then back to losing connection and unable to control anything. I love the C4,.....but,.... I'm pretty frustrated by not having a dependable connection. My needs and wants from it are pretty simple, a couple of octaves, couple of filters and phasers , and one or two synth sounds. I've experienced this problem a handful of times over the last year. Starting to think that maybe it's just not for me. Any ideas on what the problem could be? It will work like a charm for several gigs, then,...poof! Nada,...... :rollno::(

Have you cleaned the fluff out of your lightning port?
