With the C4, I am still getting a bit confused with the voice routing of env/LFO
Im loving @GMC 's most excellent Spec GMC Jabbafunk
However, the 2 voices do NOT have the env 1 or 2 selected in drop down list (under voice 'type' selector - stereo input mix, polyphonic etc etc).
But the env 1 clearly is influencing the sound. Mod source at top is fully dialed to env. If I tweak to part LFO, I can hear the oscillations creep in. The env 1 controls do adjust the sound via the filter, yes?
How is this possible is the voice selector is not set to env1 or 2 ??

The same Envelopes in the C4 can control two different things, which are the filter and the amplitude. There are only two envelopes, but they are performing multiple jobs in this case (or you can utilize both of them independently so one envelope is only controlling the amplitude of the voices and the other is controlling the filter if you only assign each envelope to separate duties). On a typical analog synth you will have two envelopes with seperate controls, one dedicated to the filter and one dedicated to the amplitude (often just called "Amp"). Its somewhat confusing with a bass triggering the synth because in many cases you are probably trying to use the envelope of your bass playing to control the amplitude of the synth, but you can instead get interesting sounds by using one of the internal C4 envelopes to subtly shape voices (you are somewhat limited here due to not having full ASDR controls for the envelope like you would on most synths) while just using the bass to trigger the voices/pitch.
The "Envelope" dropdown is selecting to use one of the two envelopes to control the amplitude of the voice (so for example you could have the voice swell up slowly in volume by choosing "Envelope 1" under the Voice's "Envelope" dropdown then choosing the "swell" envelope for the "Type" under that Envelope's parameter menu), while the filter envelope is selected under the Filter menu dropdowns and assigned to each voice by the Processor Pan knob (sending the voice to either Distortion/ Filter 1 and/or Distortion/ Filter 2) and the Destination menu (so choosing whether or not that voice gets sent to the distortion and/or filter of the processor you have panned to).
It can be pretty confusing until you wrap your head around the signal path and how it all ties together!

Hi guys, sorry I’ve not been very prominent on this thread recently. I’ve been away on holiday and had a wee accident with my car. It’s amazing how much time and effort it takes dealing with car insurance and car recovery when one’s car is stranded immobile 400 miles away! I’m back home safe and sound and my car is arriving at a local garage later this week. Hopefully I can get some pedal board time in my diary soon.

I once spent a month one week in Matahuala, Mexico after a bit of an accident on the way back from a vacation. And yes there is a bit of a story there. We did get to visit Real de Catorce where they filmed parts of the movie The Mexican.

Hi all, I've just come back to my C4 after a couple years of not really using it much. I originally bought it in 2020 and found the Neuro desktop editor not very user-friendly at all. I just loaded it up and seems nothing has changed in two years... is it still not possible to drag & drop patches within the pedal? I find myself accidentally overwriting and permanently deleting patches when trying to simply reorder them

Definitely - I remember wishing it had that functionality two years ago and hoped it would someday be implemented.
I found it annoying at the start, but have since been OK with it. Burning is so quick & easy. Finding stuff was my bugbear.
It helped me to be organised with how to store presets. I have folders of 'types' eg octaves, sequencers, pads etc on the pc. I then burn desired presets into categories /groups on the pedal.... So 10 to 19 are octave, 20 to 29 pads etc. If a preset is not directly useful, then I keep off the pedal, stored in the pc folder.
This is much more user friendly and easier to find stuff. Clearer, less on the pedal itself. Was a chaotic mess before having a system....

I also organise mine in a similar fashion, but it's not convenient when they're stored in a pc folder because you can't hear/sample/tweak them without having to find a space
That's awesome! Very pleased to hear that. And of course greatly appreciate the work you are putting into it - although is there any way to really use the C4 without the software/Neuro Desktop?
