Source Audio Sorcerers Society (S.A.S.S) Part 3

I need some help from you source audio tech savy people...I've had my HH3, BEF pro and MVBD pro for about a year without issues. Last night my HH failed to sync to the reciever module. The ring is fully charged, the blue lights on both the ring and the reciever flash blue slowly. I cycled the power multiple times on both the ring and the reciever, in various combinations. I also tried powering the sensor via both the pedals and/or the power supply. No luck. I took the rubber cover off the ring and no damage, shorts, or problems are evident on the internals.

Is this a warranty issue? Anything else I can try? I turned off all the wifi/cell phones in the house and can't see any reason it shouldn't sync up.

Then to make it worse...tonight it sync'd up once briefly, but after turning off the ring it wouldn't do it again despite repeated attempts. I'm about ready to stomp my precious ring into the ground in frustration....:crying:

Tried the reset sent from source audio. Nothing fixes the problem. Time to figure out how to make a warranty claim... :(

My apologies if this has been asked/addressed before, but I have a quick question. I suspect the answer will be obvious once someone points it out.

I finally have things all nicely connected and working together with the Hub, firmwares are all updated. I was trying to set up a patch with the Dimension where the Dual Expression controls Reverb Send. I know how to do it, but trying to set the control option to Off in order to set it up no longer seems to be an option. I can individually select the settings for each, and also get indicators that any of the 2 are concurrently selected (I recall this being a new Hub-based option, but not positive and not sure how it works). Anyway, it only cycles through but doesn't go off. Am I missing something I needed in order to do this? Did I already screw something up? Please feel free to slap me upside the head if it's something obvious or in the manual that I've missed. Thanks!

Hello! To put it in reverb-send mode, click the Control Input button so that no external controller is selected (all lights off, but MIDI still on if you are using the Hub is OK). Then press and hold the Control Input button until all 3 lights blink, then release. Now, when you select a controller (such as HH or EXP), you will be in Reverb Send mode. Let me know if this works, and keep in contact with me at [email protected] if I can help further!

Well, as all the SA stuff comes in, I have been testing as I go through the process of setting up my big boy board.

I had way too much fun yesterday. (Maybe the foot on the coffee table was a bit excessive.)

Frankly I wasnt expecting much from the auto wah. Perhaps I was shortsighted in assuming that any giveaway/deep discounted product would be overly specialized. Well, I was dead wrong.

I started with the Brimstone XD 1, The SA Wah,, and the HH3. After a little knob twiddling I found that I could adjust the sensitivity on the HH3 to trigger slightly while playing normal fingerstyle. And the more I dug in, I got this incredible vowelly sound. I could then move my hand for addition sweep.

I then tossed the MarkBass SS in front of the whole mess, and about tore the house down. I had to move to headphones as small birds in the neighborhood were falling from the trees.

My wife snapped a pic with my Wonder Twin Powers ring on.

Here's my test board yesterday.

Not so long ago the Hot Hand Wah Filters was a $299 pedal. Add in the HH3 at $149, and you have $448 worth of gear selling now for $169. It is big and heavy, but it does lots of stuff and sounds great. It will be very interesting to see where the price goes when we stop selling them.

It really is a very interesting pedal with more that few usable tones/functions. The only thing I can say bad about it is that its a behemoth. I seem to have a fetish for BIG pedals. I have a brand spankin' new PT 3, and I cant get everything on it. And a PT Pro is just too big.

I foresee sacrifices and it wont be pretty !

Hey SA friends. I've recently started thinking that in order to use and play all three of my basses, I use an early 90's ATK 300 mostly but have a Squier P and an affinity p/j, in a live setting, I need to either add a boost or an EQ pedal. My P SITS in the mix real nice, but, I'm not looking to sit in the mix, I want to dominate it the way my ATK does. I thought about different pups, onboard preamps. Well, I'd be starting a world of money and time and they may not even work. So I'm focusing on EQ'ing to accomplish what I want. I think I am there with what I have but I don't want to have to set EQ on three different sources in between songs/between bass switch outs. So I thought I'll either use a boost or an EQ. Someone suggested I go with the SA EQ. What do you guys think???

The nice thing about the SA EQ is the ability to save presets. You could save presets for each bass as well as clean boost. SA NEVER skimps on the options. Go for it.

Damn it, another MUST HAVE GAS attack. Shoot. I was just reading up on it and it sounds like it's EXACTLY what I need. So cool. And cool looking. Man SA guys, you rock. I may have to sell my manta to grab this guy.....

+100.
IMO, it's the best pedal eq available. plus it allows you to use it as a clean, transparent boost as well.

That reminded me that I needed to find a replace the reverb and EQ for my acoustic guitar now that I moved those pedals permanently into the bass rack. Just ordered another Dimension Reverb and EQ. I know own the full SB2 line again. I'm even tempted to pick up another Tri-Mod Wah for my electric guitar rig. Nothing beats the LFO side of that pedal.

Anyone use the Hub with the Voodoo Labs Ground Control Pro? I have the Manta, Orbital, and MWBD in a couple channels of my GCX switcher. I am thinking about buying the Hub and placing all of the SA pedals in a single loop of the switcher to make room for a couple other things. I know that the Hub will allow me to save scenes and call up custom settings and configurations. I am wondering if I have to save these as patches or if I can configure the the ground control another way. I have the top 8 switches on the control as instantaneous control over the individual loops of the GCX.

The GCX is in Midi channel 1, and my POD XT Pro is in Midi channel 2. I would place the HUB in MIDI channel 3. I assume that I will just have to build custom patches and call up the various SA sounds I want that way, which isn't a big deal. I'm just wondering if there are other options without losing the instantaneous control of the GCX. Any other programming tips would be appreciated.
