@rsmith601 the Spectrum side of the cloud presets are kinda sparse. I remember reading about letting you guys know the presets so you could convert them over to Spectrum presets; should I email the support@ email or somebody more specific with the links/list?

I’ve got 4 or 5 filter/dirt (or octave) only presets that I believe would be compatible with the Spectrum. As I alluded to in the previous post most of my real world usage of the C4 os a replacement for my Qtron+ and Manta. I originally couldn’t quite get my Manta’s sound dialed in but I’m way more studied in filter types and depth/frequency/Q now after 2 months with the editor. I already burned @nnavarro ’s Spectrum phaser and Fwonkaholic presets and those are top notch.

It’s probably too complicated to add cross pedal publishing (and the compatibility check) to the Neuro desktop. I think it was discussed somewhere back 300-400 pages.

The spectrum list is only at 20 presets and I want to help it hit critical mass like the C4!

We just did the conversions. Took a while, but they are done. THANK YOU!!!

I bought the C4 hoping for moog-ish bass lines. There are some great moog-like presets in the community, but I have to play them up an octave on my bass. Me thinks most are made for guitar. At this point I'm not sure if this is replacing or even supplementing my Future impact.

There are several of us that have created sounds using bass. Also The Hook, Quatsmacher

+1 to NicJimBass for suggesting to ensure the voices aren't set to -1 octave. That should do the trick!

However - one big mistake: the Qtron Foldover (Sitar Peak) has the -1 octaves turned on for some reason, the output is set to filter only instead of Filter+Distorion, and the filter is set to 4 pole instead of Notch, LowPass, Peak. It's not the same preset at all - maybe Nico labeled it wrong? He also published it too but it's the same wrong setup.
WAIT I GOT IT - He made it just like my OC-2 Envelope preset and not the Qtron Foldover (Sitar Peak) from the C4. Can he delete and re-do? Sorry to be a pain. Other ones look good!

While I have your attention - I noticed that if a Voice is set to "Envelope Off" the filter is still subject to the ADSR, Speed, and Sensitivity settings that are used despite not being assigned to the voice. But if the Voice is assigned to an Envelope it changes the output dynamics by a large amount. This would seem normal to me as speed, sensitivity, and attack/release are all needed for envelope filters (like the Manta had). Just counter-intuitive. This is normal behavior right?

If I did assign Envelope 1 it would drastically bring the loudness and 'fatness' of the filter down and be almost too non-responsive. Sounded weak really. Gate would function once Env 1 was assigned to Voice.

I learned how to make a basic filter by looking @thymecop's Mutron Low Pass and he kept envelope assignment off. Couldn't quite seem to dial in the filter as I liked it till I figured out that speed/sense and ADSR affected the sound but without being assigned. I was previously ignoring it assuming it was not usable. I also re-read the C4 manual, Spectrum manual, and Manta manual on Sunday! I'm in too deep!!

It is confusing at first, but the envelopes can be used for two very distinct purposes.

The envelope selection up in the voice section assigns an AMP envelope that controls the loudness of the voice.

Down in the filter config section you can also toggle which envelope is assigned to each filter. The envelope in the filter section controls the filter properties (by for example sweeping the filter frequency in response to the envelope)

The AMP envelope is most relevant for the Sin, Square and Saw voice types. Without an amp envelope they just play at a constant volume and never decay away.

Yeah when I realized what was going on I was confused, then frustrated, then happy I could basically set a volume swelling, LFO controlled phaser tone.

So I’m probably misunderstanding the function of the envelope selector dropdown in the Voice section. When a saw/square/triangle wave are used, sure, it makes sense. But when using Mono Input 1 it does change the sound of the filter dynamics.

So, what am I doing wrong with the Moble Neuro-Editor?

Tonight I plugged in the cable with the iphone adaptor (iPhone Xs), newest updated app, up to date firm ware. Volume at 100%. I'm not getting any lovin' from it. Am I missing a setting somewhere? I can reach the cloud and my saved library, but choosing any patch does nothing and all the control parameters are set at defaults (most at 127, etc). I restarted the pedal, restarted the app, re-plugged everything and I've got nothing.

Thoughts, feelings?

My favorite preset creator is "thehook" but like I said, I need to play his bass synth presets up an octave. Some of them go 2 octaves down. They simply don't work unless I play up an octave. (See for example post 8628 on the previous page - great moog sound but played up an octave.) I play a Dingwall and want to take advantage of my longer scales bass. So I like to play synth bass lines in the normal (low) position with some dry signal mixed in. I can do that with my Future Impact bass synth patches. When I have time I will take the advice offered here of messing with the octave settings.

Yes thanks for the illustration. I will be using the nuero desktop editor to make these adjustments.

Also helpful to remember at the very bottom you can set the instrument to 5 string bass with low B and 24th fret, I haven't looked to see if it goes up to high C. I've heard the sound change pretty dramatically as I toggled that to the low B. I don't know if that is a setting that is saved in the presets or always goes to the default.

That's just for tracking, not shifting, I believe.

Got the Morningstar MC6 yesterday, and just finished up programming for the whole thing. Works much better than the MIDI functions on the HX, and I have so many options, even after setting up an average of 4 or 5 messages per switch. I made 2 Aux switches, one to select Bank up/down, and the other to access my 2 most used scenes on the HX. I sometimes had to scramble if one of my singers called an audible. Also, I now have full control to turn my Aftershock on and off, while simultaneously choosing the patch I want. Makes it like I have 6 of them on my board at any given time! I could do the same for the C4 and Manta, but I have those in the effects loop of the HX, so I can use them with other effects, if need be. I may change that at some point. I'm really happy with this pedal!
