So, question about the default OD of the AfterShock. According to the manual the distortion is a mix between a Rat and a Big Muff, while the fuzz is more like a Woolly Mammoth. Can a same kind of comparison be made about the OD? Anything it's based on?

I don't know what it's based on...however...it is the most transparent overdrive I've ever used / tried and I've tried a lot!

I think it might actually be based on a B3k. I was told one of the three stock modes is meant to be Darkglass like, at least.

Many of the effects are similar (identical?) to the sounds on their OFD. They listed that as "Tube Drive is similar to a Marshall (Plexi) sound, offering a nice, overdriven tube-amp effect."

I think the middle position (Heavy?) uses one of the Smoked Glass engines.

About expression pedals.
I recently bought a LA Lady, and reading the manual I noticed the 3,5mm TRRS port can be used for expression pedals.
Does it work with 2 ordinary expression pedals if I make a Y-cable so the out from the pedals are separated so one is connected to the X input and the other is connected to the Y input.

I’m new to this with a C4 on the way. What do you need to use a C4 with say a DOD mini expression pedal? Just a TRS-TRRS cable?

So this might be a longer post..... but I am finaly diving into midi. I have a hub, a soleman, and reflex.... trying to control my C4, Gemini, Nemesis and After Shock. As well as my Future Impact and two different Eventide H9s.

My plan was midi out of the soleman to hub and out of the hub to the in of the soleman. Using the soleman for PC and maybe a little CC mode. But most CC will just be through the Refelx and hub which I already have working. 2nd midi out of soleman to the FI into H9 1 then H9 2.

So the questions I have....
1. do all the pedals need to be on different midi channels? Advantage to yes and no answers???

2) sending midi clock to all of them.... how does that work? Is there a best way to set it up. Ie does the hub deal clock message ok or should I do that from the soleman...

3) can the reflex senor out go to the senor in on a hub to control expression without CC so I can free up one of the 3 normal expression outs. If not should I use the expression out on the hub for all the source audio pedals or should I use the expression out of the soleman.

4) can the Reflex use all 3 midi out and the USB to Daw at the same time?

Why do you intend to loop back into the Soleman? That shouldn’t be necessary unless you want something on one of your other pedals to control something on the Soleman.

If you want to do different things with CCs on the various pedals separately then you should set them to different MIDI channels. You can however set your Hub to be on the same channel as one of your SA pedals. (I have my C4 and Hub on the same channel.)

I had some issues with my Hub not dealing with large volume data for other pedals so I’ve found it works better if I put it after my FI in the chain.

Can’t you just place the pedals in one chain and use MIDI THRU on the devices to pass the signals on to the next device rather than using two MIDI outs on the Soleman?

It’s definitely worth looking at what the Soleman can do with CCs as the C4 and FI have amazing possibilities using them.

MIDI clock needs to come from a single source, either externally or from a device in your chain, preferably at the front. Does Soleman have MIDI clock? The signals will be passed down the chain with other MIDI data. If you’re using external clock then feeding it into Soleman and turning on its MIDI THRU will work.

I was thinking since the soleman had two midi outs. I would use one for the hub and all the SA pedals. And use the other out on the soleman to the FI then the two H9s. The H9s will only receive PC messages the FI PC and CC.

I wasnt sure if I had to feed the hub and soleman in and out of each other or not. I thought I read something about doing that so they can read scene and patch names?

I just want to say how much I appreciate the design and execution of the Neuro app. After some very frustrating experiences with another manufacturer who has "prints" for "tones" that you can "beam" to you pedals, the Neuro app really shows what it looks like when it's done right, in terms of design, functionality, connectivity, and doing what it's supposed to do when it's supposed to do it. Alas, I don't have anything on which I can install the desktop editor (damn admin rights on my work machine), but I'm already really happy with what I can do just from mobile/tablet.

I also really dig the Neuro app! The biggest issue I could see with not having the desktop app is not being able to see presets/names already on your pedal (since the mobile app is just a one-way communication). Also names of presets burned with the mobile app don’t seem to save into the pedal, so if you did look at them eventually on the desktop app they would just be “preset 1, preset 2, etc”. I like fooling around with building presets in the mobile app sometimes, then making a note to go label them later in the desktop

One of the reasons we get better and better marks for all this stuff is that we are constantly making improvements. Feedback noted.

Quick Midi question, I have an EQ2, a Spectrum and Le Bass, that are Midi capable. I am looking at getting a Hub, will this make my DMC Micro obsolete, or will I still need it for the Spectrum?

The midi to the SA pedals can be handled by the Hub via the TRRS cables. MIDI PC messages will recall Hub scene presets. If connecting thusly, you’d need to use CCs if you wanted direct access to the pedals’ onboard presets. You’ll still need the DMC to send PC and CC messages (unless you have an alternative controller).
