While one can argue analog vs digital across lots of different things........digital envelope detectors stand out in all those discussions in terms of being more clearly superior to those in the analog domain. I suppose if difficult to dial-in and presets that drift over time and temperature constitute that special experience you are after......well, I will accept that.

Awesome! Glad to see someone using pedals with the aerophone. I tried a few with mine and had mixed results, but hadn't tried the C4 yet. An analog octaver (3leaf Octabvre mkiii) strangely didn't work with a few of the presets. Anyone know why?

I mostly use the aerophone as a practicing tool because I live in an apartment with thin walls. The lack of 5pin midi out on the ae-10 almost makes me want to upgrade to the ae-30 so I can do a bit more with it, but the price is a bit much.

One quick note in regards to MIDI, you can also use the M-audio UNO and that could help with the 5 pin midi connection(plus a USB a-b adapter!

Yes I did mean the aerophone into the Octabvre. I'm very happy with the Octabvre on bass! I think @sunbeast is correct, I only tried it with a few of the aerophone's saxophone patches and noticed the issue. I wanted to see what a saxophone with an analog octave down would sound like. As @rsmith601 pointed out, the C4 might have a better chance of digitally emulating that sound than an analog pedal. I'll try to give it a shot this weekend once I have time to hook everything back up.

Thanks @tonym! There are a lot of great contributors to the Neuro Community, so I was pretty honored when Jeff messaged me about being a featured artist! Diving into patches has been a source of great enjoyment (during 2020 especially), so I'm really happy that other people are finding use/happiness from them as well. Looking forward to creating more of course, and I'm really excited to check out the Ultrawave! I'll report back about it for sure!

Managed to get a file from the livestream where I used the preset. I was nervous like @$∞§£ doing this livestream. It was my second gig ever with a band and I have only played the bass for 1,5 years. And when it was time for count in the drummer had a real brain fart and did who knows what and then started out way too slow. But we did get trough somehow.

Thank you! Swedish can be hard, just ask the chef! I only used the preset on the two songs with Swedish lyrics and the other is a local one so it would have been even harder.

My Swedish is pretty decent (though quite rusty at present as languages have taken a back seat the last couple of years). It’s much easier to read than pick out sung words. I did a lot of intensive listening to SR P1, especially the audiobook they do each day.

Thanks, I already spoke German and Dutch but hadn’t learned a new language in years. After watching Bron I fell in love with Swedish and Danish and decided to learn them. I went with Swedish first and picked it up ridiculously quickly as the similarities to German, English and Dutch were readily apparent and the grammar (particularly verb conjugation) is much more straightforward. To be honest I think Swedish ought to have been the international language instead of English as it’s much more logical, consistent, phonetic and easy to learn.

Danish is a bit trickier; written is fine but listening is a harder prospect. And the number system mad! Again, the similarity to German helped a lot, especially with the pronunciation. I really seem to have a thing about the “guttural” languages; I love how they sound and think they are beautiful.

A good suggestion of course, and I looked into that one early on in my MIDI board build. Unfortunately the MD BT01 is powered by the MIDI Out port, and I need that to connect my HXFX to the Hub.

Yep, I can see how that would throw a spanner in the works. Just curiosity on my part. No idea also how gig ready and reliable such a solution would be.
