It's Android, and yes, checked that too prior to trying the new feature.
By the way, I didn't mean to come across as whinging about the app. I understand the USB thing is a new feature, so new that the Source Audio website hasn't even really caught up yet, and so a few glitches don't bother me, I'm sure it will all be sorted out in time. But I know Source Audio follows this thread so posting here lets them know what real world users are experiencing.

If you’re encountering problems it’s worth emailing their support too. Could be an Android-specific issue.

I think I saw a brief discussion of this in this thread, but my search-foo is failing me.
I'm looking for an app that can play audio cues, and can send or receive midi commands.
I'd prefer android, but I am willing to join the Cult of Jobs if that is the way.

Hey all, I posted this a few pages back but I think it got swallowed up with the announce of the Atlas.
I’ve been getting a high pitched digital
Noise from my setup but ONLY when I have my EQ2 plugged into the hub. When I unplug it, the noise goes away.
My chain is:
Bass - Shure GLX Wireless > EQ2 > Cali 76 CB > C4 > Aftershock > Spectrum > CB Warped Vinyl HiFi > Red Panda Context 2 > Origin Bass Rig
Powered by a Strymon Zuma and an Ojai
then it’s MC8 midi to HUB, hub for all the Source Audio stuff. I had the EQ set to have a JBass (Slapp and fingerstyle) and a PBass (pick and fingerstyle) EQ curve. With Channel 2 as my “oh crap” input in case my wireless pack dies. I also use the noise gate to help eliminate any pickup buzz when I solo pickups (the Am Performer Mustang can be noisy when soloed on either side as well as my Am Pro Jazz Bass).
TLDR: Would using a 5 pin MIDI cable eliminate that noise or is there a routing mode im not using that is causing this extra noise.

I think more troubleshooting is needed. Does unplugging MIDI from the Hub fix the issue? How about unplugging power from the Hub? Unplugging other SA pedals from the Hub?

The only time the noise stops is then I unplug the EQ2 from hub. Even if it’s just the EQ2 plugged in to the hub. I haven’t tried unplugging the midi cable from the hub because it was only happening on the one pedal and I didn’t think the MiDI cable would have been a factor if the other pedals didn’t emit the same noise.
also the noise happens whether I unplug it from the pedal side or the hub side. I also do NOT get this noise from the C4, Aftershock or Spectrum. And it is very much NOT the same noise you get from having the USB cable plugged in.
I can try and post a sound sample when I get back to my gear Friday.

So even if the Neuro hub has absolutely no other connections to it (power, MIDI, other TRRS cables), just plugging in the EQ2 causes this noise?
when I had it plugged in “direct” the set up was wireless>EQ pedal and then out to the amp. Of course still powered by the strymon. I had the hub connected via TRRS.
I'm not talking about doing an alternate setup or anything like that, I'm talking about troubleshooting, unless that isn't something you are interested in doing. If your question is "will using a MIDI DIN cable stop this noise?", none of us can answer that because the source of the problem hasn't been found. You can give it a try and it might work.

I am very much interested in troubleshooting this issue and will give your suggestions a shot when I get back to my stuff (currently working 4 hrs away).
I have a full weekend of gigs when I get back which is why I’m thinking about my set up now since I might only have a few hours with my stuff before rushing off to load in.
As a quick fix it would probably be worth giving a MIDI DIN cable a try then, and hopefully you'll be all good for your gigs.
I assume all the pedals and Hub are getting their own isolated power outputs from your power supply(s)? Have you tried using a different TRRS cable to the Hub? Does the noise still occur when plugging in direct and unplugging/removing the wireless unit from proximity to the pedal? How about if you switch the location of the EQ2 in the effects chain?
I would also recommend at least trying the 5-pin MIDI connection straight to the Morningstar as an option until you figure things out

- moving the EQ 2 to somewhere else in the path might be a bit of a hassle, but I could definitely give it a shot. I use it upfront to allow a bypass for the wireless if I need it and as a tone “enhancer”/noise gate up front.
- moving the wireless further away was a thought I had as well but I need to resolder a cable for that distance or at least a longer patch cable to test (will also look into this as a trouble shoot)
- I have tried swapping out TRRS cables but that didn’t have an effect.
I have a low profile 5 pin cable on order, that fingers crossed will do the trick. The two other 5 pins were “right angled” Hosa cables and due to the limitations of the area of the board it’s on, wouldn’t fit when I was initially trying to troubleshoot.

A tad jealous of that Quad, functionality on that thing seems remarkable (especially cloning pedals). Then I could just borrow my buddy’s Doom 2 and save myself the daily checks on the reverb/TalkBass Classifieds
My suggestions are mostly just for troubleshooting. If you could trace it to an interaction with the wireless for example then it might be easier to solve
I feel that! I haven’t been convinced enough to go full-in on a modeler yet, but do use an HX Stomp to cut down on most of my modulation needs for that reason (less noise and less potential failure points). I still use external boxes for preamps/drives/octave/synth/delay/reverb just because the Stomp can’t do those convincingly enough (or unconventional enough) for my tastesAll of these troubleshooting steps for noise is one of the reasons I prefer primarily using a Quad Cortex now
The key point with troubleshooting this is that it's most likely not an issue between the EQ2 and Neuro Hub (as plenty of us have used this combo without an issue). It's most likely some other device that is either connected to the the EQ2 or Neuro Hub that is also partly responsible in causing it. If you can find it, then you can work out a good solution for fixing it.
