Or buy a Mortrix controller which has two USB MIDI host ports.

He could bypass the 5 pin adapter and use one of the trs ports to the midi adapter, little less cabling.

Didn't @Billyears IV say he had the Hub and not the MIDI adapter? He'd have to buy the adapter too! Path of least resistance here (assuming he has space on his board, and an available port on whatever power supply he's using) is still just doing the MC6 Pro to Hub to 2 SA pedals. Also assuming he's got a 5-pin cable of course.

So true. I was just throwing out the double adapter scenario as yet, one more option.

I'm starting from scratch, so it's the one I'm planning on using.

Could you kindly list the exact cables that I need to link up Hub & mc6, with C4 and UW?

I have 3 trrs cables that came with the Hub.
What connects pedals to mc6? 3.5mm to 6mm trs?
What about USB MIDI ports on SA pedals?

In this use case, the SA pedals connect to the Hub. They don't connect directly to the MC6 pro. Hub is the go-between. So:

*MC6 Pro --> Hub can be either 5-pin to 5-pin, standard MIDI connection.
or
1/4" or 1/8" TRS from MC6 to 5-pin MIDI on the Hub.

*Hub --> SA Pedals are 3.5 mm TRRS on both sides.
*No USB involved in this setup.

Though I guess you could use USB --> USB from the MC6 to the Hub, right? Would require an odd cable (USB C on MC6 to USB type mini-B). I don't know that you gain anything there except cable hassles.

EDIT: And I'm not even sure you could use USB to USB with the Hub and MC6, as I don't personally know if the SA Hub accepts MIDI from a USB host or if that's just an interface to use with their software.

It fries my brain somewhat!

Bit of a downer that the MC6 can't go direct to SA pedals, without the Hub.
That means I will have to treat the pedal presets as scenes, no? Rather than just messages to the single pedals, with presets already named, no?

The Hub allows access to the onboard presets in each pedal, you just have to use CCs instead of PCs. Frankly I prefer the Hub for saving scenes as it’s one click to save and one message to recall.

While you have to physically connect to the hub, you can send cc messages to individual pedals on individual channels. It'll be 127 presets on the more recent one series pedals (including C4 and uw), the older ones will have to be addressed through scenes.

Hi all.
Just bought a C4 and DMC micro for a portable board. Didnt realise i needed a USB A female to mini USB B so im waiting for that to arrive.

I was able to update to the beta firmware and figured out how to name presets. Very cool.

Question about the DMC. Can i use the 1/4" multi jack for an expression pedal for the C4? Will that work with the C4? Are there presets that would utilise that? Do i have to make any config changes on the DMC to allownthat to work, or do the default C4 settings allow for that?

I have a future impact with the midiconnect to hook up an exp pedal and it's great. No real configuration for that. Just plugged it in and ready to go.

You can use the control jack on the C4 directly (you’ll need a 1/4” to 1/8” TRS adaptor and make sure your expression pedal’s wiring matches the picture in the C4 manual), then go into the Neuro App and choose the correct form of expression under “External Control” and assign a parameter to it.

If you an expression into the DMC then you will have to assign it to MIDI CC control sweeps that will be sent to the channel you have the C4 on. Both methods work but hooking directly to the C4 will probably be slightly easier (though if you hook expression to the DMC you can send MIDI expression to multiple attached pedals)

It looks like sime 3rd oarry wouldnwork, but the source audio one definitely will.

Will i buy once and get the sourc audio? I dont suppose tou have any recommendations?

I dont think my current ines conform to this

I’ve only used the SA pedal with my C4, but I believe the Moog EP-2/3 should work as well
