Source Audio Spectrum Inteligent Filter!!!

Can it also a EHX Bassballs sound?

So anyone knows this? I find the typical Bassballs sound hard to imitate with other pedals. It has a very specific and strange sound but I love it!

The Spectrum can indeed. I've got a patch on my C4 for a Bassballs sound that would totally be doable on the Spectrum... no synth, just filters and dirt. I based it directly on comparison with my EHX Bassballs Russian and Ashdown Type 23. And as an improvement to the Bassballs, C1 knob controls the amount of dirt, and C2 knob controls the clean/distortion mix... instead of just a switch for adding distortion. Sound sample below starts with my preferred balance of dirt, and then I crank up the overdrive and mix to about 60% and 80% respectively.

I'm a little biased of course, but I think it's damn good, and I've used it at a couple gigs now with some pretty positive comments.

I'm still debating about getting a Spectrum, but if I do, I'll port it over of course.

We might be able to help with the port. Will investigate tomorrow.

Ok cool sound! It's not 100% the same but close enough to leave the Bassballs at home I guess.

I guess it depends on your favorite Bassballs settings. The sound in my audio clip from the C4 is pretty much a spot on match for my fav BB setting, and the shot below was my setup when I was working on it. You can see from the Sensitivity knobs that I keep that setting pretty low.

Spent a good chunk of a Saturday morning figuring out the patch... The Bassballs is a twin filter, so I set up my C4 patch with each envelope processing individual/separate/different filters. If/When I can get the patch ported to the Spectrum, you should be able to adjust it to your personal taste without much trouble.

I'm absolutely blown away by the envelope filter options in the C4, so I'm sure you'll be quite happy with it! Don't base your purchase on me though... I won't have that patch ported over until/unless I finally break down and get my hands on a Spectrum. :)

First 20 minutes on guitar, the next 20 minutes on bass.
Initial reaction for the first time plugging in to the Spectrum with both guitar and bass: WOW!!!

Definitely gonna be a learning curve, but the stanky, funky, juicy, bouncy, chewy, nasty, and crazy are all in this pedal. Wow, wow, WOW!!!!!!!

If you are even remotely considering one, ya gotta try it!!!!

I caught myself watching a video this morning about the lil DMC midi pedal....

I don't wanna tweak, but I feel like I'm gonna want more than 6 presets..... because the options to have more than 6 GREAT sounds are gonna be so easy!
Once you get it set up, it’s invaluable! Set up was kind of a drag, but if I can get it up and running, anyone can!
