Yes. Just checked it. Cool sound! had to adjust a bit to my bass. I think you have to do that with all user presets. Some of them didn't sound as expected.

Just played around with the neuro app for a few hours. It really opens up a lot of possiblities! Great that you can immediately load in other user presets. There are not so many Spectrum user presets now I think. Are there any other Source Audio presets besides the six that are installed? is there a list of all Spectrum presets?

I uploaded two presets myself (username Bodde). One is a nice phaser (called Phaser only) and one is an synthy octave only sound a la Tim Lefevbre.

Can someone from source audio maybe answer my first question as to why alt mode shuts off after 6 seconds already?
And also if it's possible to completely dial out the direct sound and only hear the octave on the pedal itself (it can be done with the app but I can't get it done on the pedal itself)

I believe we did this so that users know it is always set to standard controls when the initially go to make adjustments. All the other pedals require you to hold the control input button while making adjustments (those that have alternate controls), but the filter and c4 seemed to make more sense to go to this mode momentarily to make adjustments on the fly a little easier to do than having to hold the button while adjusting.

Yes I agree that it is better then holding the button. But 6 seconds is very short. If you turn the knobs and want to play a bit to know how it sounds you have very little time to check the sound. So that means you have to press it again every time after you have played a few notes. To me it makes more sense that it stays in alt mode once you press the alt button and then go out of alt mode once you press the button again.

Has anyone had any problems with this pedal? Mine has been working fine for the last two weeks and now it suddenly isn't. The LED's still light up and everything but I'm not getting any effect out of the pedal. When I turn the INPUT/SENSE knob, the main LED gets dimmer for some reason so I suspect this is where the problem lies. I tried factory resetting the pedal as well as using different power supply units including the one the pedal comes with, to no avail.
Just curious if anyone else has had similar problems or knows of a solution. Any help would be appreciated as I really love the sound of this pedal!

Yep I checked it with different power supplies including the one it came with, even tried different outlets in the house to see if that might be the issue.
I've been emailing back and forth with support to try and find a solution, looks like I might have to send it in.

Glad you're digging it.

Adjusting to your bass / signal chain is a must with Community presets. There have been a few on the C4 in particular with the Input and Output levels maxed that would've blown out my speakers.

Yes I have tried all available Spectrum user presets. About half of them didn't sound good at first and didn't really sound like the description. I have to experiment with a bit more the input and output settings maybe to make them sound good. With envelope filter sounds this is really crucial and can make or break a sound.

I am recording a song right now which has extensive use of the Spectrum with my guitar and six string bass.

I used the Spectrum on almost all the bass and guitar tracks. Also the fuzz and phased guitars. Added some delays and some smalls thing but most is Spectrum. Maybe I will mix it some more and make a video of it next week. Hope you like it!

^ Nice job, @Les Fret ! Sounds great and that Spectrum sits real nice in the mix. Sounds like you've got a couple different effects mixed in there too... quite tasty. What's the effect you've got going at the 2:30 mark? Sounds like maybe a Dimension style chorus?

Thanks guys! It took a lot of time to create the parts and record and mix everything because I do everything myself. So it is always good to hear that some people are digging it.

You mean the dissonant guitar chord? I think it is a phaser with envelope both from the Spectrum combined with whammy bar if I remember correctly. I didn't use any chorus

Nope, not guitar... definitely the bass line. Listening back again, it's there at the beginning too, when the bass comes in around the :21 mark when the bass first comes in. If it's not a chorus effect, it sounds like maybe you're running bass in stereo? Definitely not a normal "mono" bass track. It's like "stereo wide" or something, and goes away when the overdriven bass comes in at 3:05. I'm sure my ears are deceiving me, but there even seems to be an ever so slight delay on the left side... like milliseconds slight. It sounds a lot like a Iron Ether Polytope or a Dimension chorus... but not quite. It's super cool, which is why I was asking.

Ok I see what you mean. You are correct. There is no effect. That bass is double tracked and put in stereo. Good ears!

Also, it sounds like the +1 octave in the Spectrum is a synth-generated octave up, rather than a digitally shifted sound like the POG2 does. So, it's "Not Quite Sylva," but it'll do in a mix...?



I also uploaded a recreating of my fav settings from the Pigtronix Bass Envelope Phaser (the small pedal, not the bigass EP2). Not full-on phasing, but more than just an envelope filter! And there's still something magical in the BEP that the Spectrum can't quite match, but it's damn good. Look for "Piggie BEP" on the Community.

So I have one on order too...my plan is to developer or download a few patches that I’ll use, maybe a dozen tops.
What do I need for a foot-stompable controller to select a given patch?
