I have been using the desktop app for editing but tried the phone app last night and on there the control knob 1 is labeled Frequency and the control knob 2 is labelled Speed knob. Exactly what you all have been saying.
Does anyone know what I could use on the app to use as a blend for two envelopes? For instance if I use the Filter Twin patch that models the Aguilar Filter Twin pedal, the speed of the two filters is done by the speed and frequency knobs. (1 & 2), but on the original pedal there is a way to blend the envelopes to use more of one than another or equal or all
Of one , etc.
Would this be voice processor Pan?

I am a bit gassing for the UltraWave. How does it hold its own against the better fuzz and compressor pedals out there? I mean when using the compressor and the fuzz on it’s own as standalone sounds on the UltraWave. Or is more geared toward the more extreme and experimental synthy fuzz, octave and sequence like sounds?
Ok Spectrum Crew! This thing is awesome! I've spent more time playing with the pedal on then off. Deep diving into the editor and different settings and effects. So fun!
But... I have a question.
Is there a way to save the settings I have on the pedal after tweaking the knobs? Is there a setting in the options menu under the Preset mode that will allow me to keep what I have tweaked or do I need to tweak while connected to the phone or computer app and then save the settings as a save as. Is there a way to use the footswitch to click and save my settings?

just hold the footswitch down until the light blinks. Then your knob settings are saved.
Sweet thanks! The settings will remain saved in that toggle switch location even if I switch off the pedal or move toggle locations? Sorry to be such a noob/worrier just like what I set it at.

i received my Spectrum today and it really is a great pedal. It will replace my SG Funk-lite and maybe my SG Imperial 183 fuzz. However I'm having 2 problems that might be easily explained away. Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to calibrate my G&L passive JB per instructions. I'm to turn the input knob on pedal while playing the bass until the led light goes from green to blinking red. It's not happening, it stays green. The other problem is the middle preset on the alternate effects bank which you access my pressing a small button on the top. You're are given a matter of seconds to dial in your sound (pick your settings) - then it reverts back to the first bank. The second preset the alternate Dumpling (Meatball design) doesn't kick in right away and sounds like it is shorting out when it does come on with volume dropping in and out. All the other presets on both banks work fine. I didn't receive an instructional manual with shipment and I'm a little confused about switching between the 2 preset banks. I looked online but didn't find answer to the alternate reset barely working or calibration issue and the directions for switching between banks weren't clear to me. I know I am asking for a lot of information but any knowledge that you're willing to share sure would be appreciated.

You change from green to red mode (extended patches) by holding down the stomp button (press and hold) for 5 seconds. If you attach a usb cable and download the neuro desktop app, you can edit this to only 2 seconds.
The input knob sounds a bit weird. Plug in your bass and amp to the pedal and play. As you play, turn the input knob clockwise. Green is good, peaking in red is clipping so turn it down a tad. An active G&L should easily overwhelm the pedal if pushed.

There's an option in the Neuro desktop to revert the pedal back to factory settings, which might be wise.
An excellent idea, I will give that a try. I really don't want to send pedal back for another one if not necessary. I worked with it for a few hours trying different patch cables etc. It's hooked up to a Voodoo power board with isolated source. I have a passive G&L JB. It's hard to get it to clip, with certain presets it will. That middle preset on the second bank still works intermittently and sounds terrible when it does - like it's shorting out. Sometimes I can't get the pedal to go back to the first bank. I was blaming myself and my age (66) thinking I was overlooking something but I've come to the conclusion, after lots of fiddling that it is the pedal itself. I will try to reset it and hope for the best. One other thing - the middle preset on the first bank sounds so boomy and un-defined no matter how I set the perimeters. I started blaming my Markbass amp but I maybe a factory reset will help that too. Thank you my bass playing friend across the pond.
I play the same bass, a G&L JB. I can find the same thing some times with the input knob. Although I’d consider the pickups hit for passive, they are still passive when it comes to filter pedals. It works a bit better if you have a little boost before the spectrum or if I put the knob at about 2:30 to 3:00 (or higher to taste) on the knob.
The alternate middle toggle position and to me sometimes other presets can sound like you are explaining until I adjust the sensitivity, which you get to by pressing the back button and then the input knob while the small middle light blinks. I can now hear now when it needs more sensitivity, the blend really helps with clarity as well I find.
After you get the sound you’re looking for with all settings, depress the foot switch and hold it down until the light blinks 3 times, then it’s saved. It’s a great pedal, the app really helps to understand how the pedal works and it’s tweakability. I like the computer app a little better than the phone app, until I understood how it was working, now can I can use the phone app as well.
Take some time with it and then you’ll love it.
I find the boominess can be controlled with the input and sensitivity adjustments. I really find these two adjustments are more sensitivity and need more up front adjustments for each preset than other filters I’ve used.
Thank you for the input. I will try your suggestions. I have been holding the foot switch down to go between the 2 different banks - I didn't know you can save the settings that way. I really thought with the there was some type of short going on with the alternate middle switch, last night would go silent and then come back. If there was a short in the pedal it would affect more than one preset now that I think about it. I'm building a pedal board and had the Spectrum at the end of the line after tuner>compressor>EHX bass Soulfood with Geranium mod>SG Geranium Beta>SG Imperial Fuzz>MXR chorus. What do you think of the placement of the Spectrum? By the way I did try the Spectrum on it's own with the power supply that came with the pedal. It didn't make a difference. I'm curious how you like you your JB. Another time - another forum I guess. Thanks again.
I have another question. When going to the second bank how do you keep the pedal from reverting back to the first bank after the five seconds is up? Do you have to save the settings with the foot switch to keep the pedal from going back to first bank?
Something does not sound right with your pedal. It shouldn't revert like that.
First thing first, love your pedals. I have played the SG imperial (sold it and wish I hadn’t) and still play a beta MKii. I also used the Funklite. Love me some solid gold fx.
I personally like my spectrum first with my passive bass. It feeds it a stronger signal. I have it right after my TC poly tuner mini 3 that has a buffeted signal as well. I then have traded my imperial for an aftershock. I like feeding the dirt some filter and place my empress bass comp at the end. Helps control the filter and dirt. Although I use more blend and HPF on the empress when using the spectrum to allow more transients through.
My chain:
Tuner:spectrum:aftershock:beta MKii: empress bass comp.
I have also set my spectrum to have a buffered signal, helps me still have some attack response with my dirt.

Try pressing the back button then switch the toggle while the little light is blinking. The larger light should now stay red. You’re now in the alternate presets.and can switch between all the alternate presets as well as still hit the back button to adjust alternate knob settings.
It sounds confusing but do it a few times and it becomes intuitive.
