I like the satin with beveled edges - I've done both with hard bevels, and gloss just doesn't define the beveled edge the same way as satin or matte.

Neck joint is looking nice now that's it's shaped to the body and set
The filled hole looks a little funky. Could be worse I suppose. I tried the CA glue and sawdust method and it just sorta looks like a fake knot

Looking good! Are you leaving the body heel squared off like that?
It's hard to get an invisible fill on maple with CA since it tends to darken the sawdust as it wets it out. Mixing dust with wood glue or plain white glue sometimes works better on lighter colored woods.

I learned about how dark the glue gets the hard way, but then again this whole build has been an experience in teaching myself some new skills, so I'm not particularly bummed about it.
Yes, I'm going to leave the heel squared off. It doesn't really impede on the reach, not that I actually play up high very often.
I actually glued the neck into the pocket after applying finish to both the body and the neck, so there is no more work to do in the wood department at this point other than drilling new PG screw holes in the body.
That looks so crisp, love it.
Iknowwhatchamean about CA colouring the wood. I've had the best success dealing with small holes or gouges in maple by using regular old wood filler in a maple colour. It blends better than the glue methods IME, but of course can't fill something deep or wide, and doesn't really harden, so there are tradeoffs.

Having a little bit of fun playing with the tuners. Normally I'd want them pointing normally to the edges of the headstock but as I discovered the Wilkinsons I got are too big to do that! So here's what I came up with...

I put it all together aaaaand now it's not all together yes that's right folks, 66% of my pickups don't make fun bass noises!
I tested ("tested") them weeks ago to make sure I wasn't shooting myself in the foot with these. Have to wonder if I did a bad job soldering or if they're really dead... Dead-ish neck pup measures 15k, middle one into the megaohms. Hmm.
Will update once troubleshooting is done.

See if you can spot why I was getting readings in the MOhms for the middle pickup...
Could it possibly be because that bit of magnet wire is supposed to be connected to that bit of hookup wire, instead of floating in midair?

What? No. Couldn't be! I fixed it by matching my pickup winding tape to my top wood.
Middle pickup is now at healthy 7.5kOhm. To think I was panicking about not finishing this build!
