Not upgrading perse, we had pretty much the same bass. His just didn't have "WOLF" carved in the back, was professionally set up, etc. Minor price difference after selling to just get a better version of what I had.

i know it will burn up a thread or at least a ton of pages , but it would be cool for everyone to list all the spectors they have had . i dont have pics of all that i have owned , but pretty sure i could list out all of them with models and colors . anyone else wanna play ?

Legend 4 (p/j w/ 3 band eq) > Euro 5LX > NS-2A > Forte 4

I only have the Forte left, but I fore see at least a fretless and maybe a 5'er in my future!

Trace, I am not sure everyone knows CircleK is a 7-11 type store. In the NYC area we dont have them, I only know them from seeing them when I traveled to south Texas, I did laugh when I read it last night

I purchased this, I believe in the late 90s and I am the original owner. It's an NS design, Czech made, in close to showroom condition but I'm not sure of the model number or year of manufacture.

Have just emailed Spector to get their input.

I asked this previously but I think it got lost in the wash.

With the discussion of the 40P5 pickups being the way to get the "classic" split P sounds from an NS-2 on a 5-string, is the placement of the neck pickup on a 35" scale Spector in the same relative "sweet spot" as the split P pickups would be on a 34" scale Spector?

I'm debating on whether I should try retrofitting one of my Euro's with the soapbar pickups or go for a Euro 435 set up for BEAD.

For that matter, is the placement of the pickups on a 435 different than on a 4LX?

I noticed but haven't been online long enough to post. Funny thing is knowing that I still bout some Circle k's. Actually they are a great string, just a tad to bright on my old G&L. I like rockstar went to a .150 on my B string. I found it a bit much on a 34" scale and with a .110 E string. I think I may try to pick up a "B" around .135ish. If you've never met the owner of Circle K's (Skip), he's a great guy to work with. He even showed my one of his .250 "E" strings. Check out his Knuclehead "Quake basses if you wonder why you would need a string that big. One octave below a normal "E"

I always feel a little bad at the end of an ebay auction cause I know how it sucks to be the one who loses out on an item,
so I'm glad noone is mad i got the cherryburst NS20005.
Definitely gonna need to clean it up some (especially the nut), cause as Guy said its not in great condition.

There is another NS20005 in natural that looks to be in pristine mint condition on there for a little more than what I got the cherryburst one for.

I thought the NSCR's were a type of euro. Show's what i know. Not that it matters, I didn't buy the bass for a much different price than I sold it for, so it's kinda nice to pay it forward. I guess I could've added what the preamp and installation cost, but I wasn't about to try to sell a beat up spector for much more when the market already sucks.

you are correct.... they were the Euros of the SSD era... different preamp and had a better brass bridge.... the euros have a zinc-brass alloy bridge
