It's a little more I agree, but, my other alternative is building a DR Lo Rider SS set with the .110-.50 heavies, then adding a .130 low B, so really the price isn't a "whole" lot more, maybe $10 and for me I change strings about every 5-6 mo's, so the difference in tone and playability is worth that $2 a month I about....

EDIT: Actually I just checked and for my CK set of the .124 + .158 vs. my "custom" made DR Lo Rider set, the difference is only $4.81.
DR's are expensive anyway so.

I've thought about going down to every 3 months as a general rule but then sometimes like right now, am working on the album and haven't done a gig since first weekend in Jan and won't til the record is ready to sell, so no sense.

I GOT IT. I have a beautiful NS20005 on its way to me. I had NO IDEA the Korean models came in this gorgeous color!!

Here is a pic from the sale, I hate black "sunburst" for its abrupt transition from black to orange, but this is a red to yellow burst with a nice smooth transition and just looks...awesome.

Now I'm safe from my S.A.S. for another few months...

Congratulations! That color is cherry burst. The color of my former NS-2A. Very nice!

He had it listed as an NS4CRFM, but it really was a Euro4 (serial number).

Just thought he might have been selling cheap because he didn't know what he had. The Euro4 and 5's are the best of the Czech's (IMHO ) and the NSCR's seem to be somewhat less desirable and sell lower overall than the Euro and Euro LX's.

It's my first Euro and could not be more excited!

Clear and articulate notes when downtuned. When I hit that 1st fret Bb, I can totally hear the actual "note", just not a thud. Same for my E string. I haven't been able to find that kind of clarity in other strings when tuned that low.

Never had any issues on the 5 tuned down with hi beams. I do change the / clean them often though. Imo. A lot of nickle sets I have tried get muddy on the b, I prefer the steel's they keep the definition down low.

LOL LOL gotcha !!! i really wanted that bass , even though it it a 4 . still wanted it . had a 5 just like it , looked great on stage . but then again , dont all spectors ??

Has a few cosmetic issues, but already talked to Pat Wilkens at PJ @ Spector's recommendation and get it refin'ed. It's going to be matte blue stain...should look great.

I was always a nickel guy and never found any SS's that I was totally in love with so gave 'em a whirl and never looked back. I think these are hybrids, though of nickel and SS...
They just "work".

When I was testing out the SR5, I had a .125-.45 LoRider SS set on there, and it just wasn't "happening" like on the Spector. I know a lot of that is bass design but yeah even with my A+ tech I wasn't thrilled.

Not upgrading perse, we had pretty much the same bass. His just didn't have "WOLF" carved in the back, was professionally set up, etc. Minor price difference after selling to just get a better version of what I had.

I thought the NSCR's were a type of euro. Show's what i know. Not that it matters, I didn't buy the bass for a much different price than I sold it for, so it's kinda nice to pay it forward. I guess I could've added what the preamp and installation cost, but I wasn't about to try to sell a beat up spector for much more when the market already sucks.
