You can buy desiccant packs at staples or office depot usually. If you can't find them there, you can order online at ULINE - Shipping Boxes, Shipping Supplies, Packaging Materials, Packing Supplies. Or...do what I do. Go to your local shoe stores and ask them to save them for you. Places like DSW or PayLess or Rack Room all get those little packs in every shoebox and every handbag. They just give them to me for free since they're going to throw them away anyway.

Excellent share!!! Thank you Tat! :D

Thx Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan!! :D :D

I found an actual MPEG of that show a while back and am glad I did. I don't have to log on to YT to always watch it! :bassist::bassist:

Haha, there is always room for Bill and Ted references.

Yeah, I found that also and the quality is better than Youtube so I still watch it constantly. I wish there was a longer version of it because the energy of that show is just top notch. They really need to put out a DVD or something of them in concert that is of good quality. The Killing in Korea I have is pretty bad quality so I would love something better.

Hmmmmm, something is amiss at the Circle K. I think I see what is going on here but i will say no more :D

How about we just watch that amazing bass in action?

Pantera Live at Ozzfest 2000 - YouTube

This almost 22 minute video just amazes me every time I watch it.

Now /that/ is what a bass should sound like. I'm seriously envious of Brownie. There is some crazy Spector porn going about on here for the last 24-48 hours. Keep it up!

The VDoP 20th Anniv Re-release will have the full Italy '92 show on it. BEYOND psyched for that one. The CFH in their prime, for dang sure before Dime was 24/7 buzzed and Phil went off the deep end.

I've heard rumored and suggested more strongly that a 4th Home Video is coming out after the 20th Anniv. re-release of FBD in 2014. Have you heard the unreleased track "Piss" yet?? Holy.Crap................

Rexy is playing an SR5 on that one but still it sounds just amazing. The whole VDoP record is going to sound like that. The only reason VDoP isn't my #1 from there is bc the sonics were just so terrible on that record.

Well I just won the Korean Legend 4 on eBay, I'm super excited! Can't wait to join the club. Now for the hardest part, waiting for it to get here.
Heres a couple pics from the auction.

Contulations Dude!!! That's a beauty!!! You'll be extremely happy with that bass. A great introduction to the Spector world!
Can't wait to hear your report after you play it for the first time!

She's on our upcoming EP too..... ;) Will post links when it's ready!

TBH tho, she's a better live bass than studio bass. It sounds totally different than any other Spector I've owned and can get a little "loose" on the low-mids even when set just flat. Live though, it will rip your head off.

I have to get a case for my incoming ReBop as well. Let me know what you end up with. I've heard the RoadRunner stuff is too "empty" and the basses move around, but the Gator ones fit more snugly on the smaller bodies of the NS design.
I have one of each and that is exactly true.... I am going to replace my RoadRunner case

So here's my NS-5...... and I'm pretty sure at this point some of you can put two and two together but I had to be sneaky......... :hiding::hiding: :D

Yeah, that is like my benchmark video for the ultimate tone that I want. Since I purchased this Sansamp RBI, I can get closer to that but unless I spend about 50 grand in Ampeg gear, i don't expect to touch the tone from that concert :)

Yup, I will be picking up the VDoP re-release the day it comes out. I have heard "Piss" and love it. I hear people complaining that the riff is used in "Use My Third Arm" but that is just one part and any new Pantera is great in my book.

I agree with you on the sonics of the Vulgar CD and man, if that is true about a Far Beyond Driven re-release, you just made my day. To me, that is when Rex's tone just got insane(of course it is, that is when he started using Spector) so a 4th home video would just rule.

Honestly man, I've found that to get this tone it's more about compression and EQ than anything. I can (obviously) nail that tone when/if I want to, but it doesn't fit our band to the T, so it's just a modified version of that. Compression is a must, though to get that "pop". And if you look at the onboard tone settings for that bass, you can see why! :D I've tried it, and it's too "dry" for my band since my guitarist isn't nearly as scooped as Dime, but you flat out fry the amp's pre when boosting that much.

And VDoP is supposed to sound just like that song. I too have heard whines about it being used in UMTA but hey that song came later, so whatever. Still sounds epic.

Even though he used the NS-4/5 setup live, I'm pretty sure he mostly used his original NS-2 for recording.

I don't foresee my wife signing off on a wall of Ampegs either, which is unfortunate. She keeps insisting that she be the voice of reason. Reason, schmeason. :bawl:

Bassmanc - love this photo, great family shot!

I've been eyeing a jazz/soapbar config spector like your three on the right for a while but haven't found any to try out before I buy. How would you say the tone and neck compare to that nice double soapbar on the left?
I have a REX5 I love (pic below) and am looking to expand my 5 string Spector line up to include a more traditional look and sound as well.

Those are the only ones with that p/u config! To be honest the one with the two humbuckers is also the same config. just in humbucker housing.I love it!It has more of the old school Spector tone being that it has the 9 volt Haz.

The magic's in the rack brah, promise! :D He still has a handful of those Rocktron Basix pre's and then the EQ very specifically set on his 4Pro's. Then for the FBD tour and to record TGST he used SVT-IIP pres, Crest 8001 power amps and regular SVT810 cabs.
By the time of that Ozzfest show he was using 4Pro's into those PR-series cabs while still hitting the board from the Rocktron. :bassist:
