Always loved this vid!!!! If their is going to be a re-release of far beyond driven....I can't wait!!!!

The magic's in the rack brah, promise! :D He still has a handful of those Rocktron Basix pre's and then the EQ very specifically set on his 4Pro's. Then for the FBD tour and to record TGST he used SVT-IIP pres, Crest 8001 power amps and regular SVT810 cabs.
By the time of that Ozzfest show he was using 4Pro's into those PR-series cabs while still hitting the board from the Rocktron. :bassist:

dude! ive never seen that video and i watched it and the hair on my body stood up and i got chills down my spine!!! \m/ :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Sweet!!! That's definitely the album that sold me on Spector basses!!! Looking forward to the re-release!!!!!!

The driving force behind the
new and improved Brown sound
was an early-'80s Spector
4-string with EMG pickups. "It
cuts," he says. "I knew it was right
as soon as I plugged it in." Rex
also used an Ernie Ball Music
Man StingRay 5-string and two
fretless basses: a Music Man and
a Fernandes. He plugged into
either a SansAmp Bass DI or a
Marshall Lead 12 combo (as a
preamp) and ran a line to a pair
of Ampeg SVT-lls driving 8x10
cabinets. For an even more cutting
sound, Rex plugged into a
Vox wah.
Rex also changed his playing
technique: instead of standing
while recording, he decided to sit
down and focus on his picking. "I
attack really hard with my right
hand," he explains, "so I tried to
get my picking smooth and consistent.
It's not that I wanted to
wimp out-I just wanted the bass
be as solid as possible."
