Oops! forgot to add that I also have smadder's white NS-2A with his amazing electronics package. I keep it in a case most of the time and forgot to add it to the herd for the picture. Steve, I still need to take that bass down to 9 volt operation. The 18 volt setup is exceedingly hot. If I can get my two year old daughter occupied long enough I'll get that done today.
I thought the same about my Rebop 5 but mine had the non trim tonepump with the HZ's in it. Once I had it changed to a trim pot tonepump and DC's though, I love the tone much better. Just a heads up though, you will most likely have to make the holes for the stacked pots on the BQC bigger on your Rebop. I had to do that when we installed the BQC in my Euro 5LX so I am not sure if you are installing it yourself or if you are having someone else do it.
My BQC is scheduled to arrive today for my NS-JH5 which has an OBP-1 in it also. I can not give that bass any treble at all or I start to immediately cringe from the tone. It sounds pretty good with the bass up at like 80% but I have to keep the treble completely off on it and I also get hiss and the tone is very brittle.
Yeah, you'll find it hot even on 9v, but 18 is just unmanageable. It's because of the X series pickups. EMG says not to use anything more than 9v with X series pickups unless the preamp manufacturer specifically requires 18v.
But yeah man, get that baby out and in the picture! That was my first Spector and I was happy that it went to such a good home.

Does the trim pot version of the tone pump actually improve the performance of a bass? I notice with the non trim TP in my Rebop it can get really loud but in a not good way. I was considering the trim TP or spending the $350 for the HAZ two band. My Rebop is the lightest bass out of my Spectors so I tend to grab it most often for extended playing situations.
Here are my two white NS-2A's. The one on the left was Steve's Special with his EMG system and the one on the right was Jeff's EMG equipped monster.

No sub needed - the PJB kicks out more bottom end than any rig I've ever heard. Yes, it is super heavy, and I usually only play out once a month - any more & I would seriously consider downsizing my rig.
The mini-rig on the left is an SWR Headlite sitting on a Sonic cab loaded with one 15" EV driver, used as an amp for my Moog Taurus-3 bass pedals. The small combo on the right is my SWR Baby Blue, used as a bass/Taurus monitor for my nearly-deaf drummer.
I got my M-Audio/Pro Tools interface in yesterday (thanks for passing that deal on smadder) and was trying to get it figured out. A couple of guys were wondering about the Darkglass B3K so I attempted to make a serious bush-league recording.
Here is my NS 2 into the B3K. The drive on the B3K is wide open so this is as much saturation as you'll get. I do, however, have the blend at 50% so your getting 1/2 clean, 1/2 dirt. I didn't adjust the master volume on mixdown so the volume is low...best with headphones.

Gabriel51, thanks for the reply. It took me while to warm up to the boost only operation of the TP but now that I actually got the hang of using it with the P/U volumes it is a wonderful option. I believe I will order a trim pot TP. It reminds me of the Cort preamps that came in the Hohner basses with the on board trim pot except boost only.

The only other thing I have to have is a blend pot even though I never run more than 10% of the neck P/U.
If the song I'm playing requires fewer highs than I'm running I just roll in a little more neck and hardly change the tone controls once I have them set.
So I play a Rebop with a blend pot in place of the upper volume position. (it looks stock)

Thanks John. I bought it new from one of the few dealers (can't remember exactly who) in the US. As good as it may sound recorded, wait until you hear it live. There is NO loss of low end whatsoever.

The dark glass pedals are the best distortion pedal I've heard for bass. Not that theres no good ones out there. Just the dark glass stuff slays the rest. They are now making the B3K in USA so they are going to be more available and cheaper!

This is how I play 90% of the time when I need some grit. I turn the grit loop off (which consists only of the M-80) when I want a clean tone.
My SVT 4-Pro has the exact settings as the Bass Mid and Treb on the M-80.
And this is how I loop things:
