SPECTOR® Club - Part 38

Alrighty so I'm absolutely in love with my NS-2A, and as the AiC tribute plans my drummer had have failed I no longer need my blueburst Euro4.

I figured I'd give the club the first crack at it, PM me for details and additional photos (I have a ton of pics), it was played hard by a previous owner so it has a few small scratches and dings, and I don't have the original case, so I'm knocking the price down a bit, though I did install gold Dunlop straplocks and will include them.

I guess I'll have to take the 12th fret inlay off my avatar picture after I sell it haha ;)

I'll buy from a TB member with good feedback or from someone that a TB member can vouch for or from Guitar Center or Sam Ash or a local guitar store but I'm done with eBay and craigslist.
So - I'm unleashing the Spector dawgs on this hunt - I'll give a $100 finders fee to the first person that can provide a lead to a nice Spectorcore 5 string bass if it ends up being purchased by me. PM me if you have a lead that you think fits the bill.
Hopefully there's no TB rules against that - if so please consider this offer null and void.

Even though Amberburst is the only color offered for the Spectorcore right now, you can still find the older colors as well. Hanser might even have some of the older colors still in their inventory so you might want to try and give them a call and see if that is the case.

They have also been popping up on Guitar Center used more often lately too. There is a fretless 4 string up there right now in that blue/black color but I know you wanted a fretted 5. I'll put Sam on the case so if there is one to be found, he would be the one to find it :)

I'm gonna ask pj about it 1st. My tech said he'd be happy to do it, but wants me to check and make sure he isn't going to uncover the truss rod cavity or the graphite bars. The chances are slim that he would - not that much wood needs to come off, but better safe than sorry. But if it works out, it'll be even better than it already is. I'll keep you posted.

So it's not an earlier euro with full maple wings, right? Just want to be sure. That's one of my favorite colors - beautiful bass.

Yeah that would be my only fear! I figured it wouldn't take much to get those necks feeling just right! The NS-5H2 fretless I have on order is spec'd to have an "Alex Webster-esque" neck profile to it! I'm hoping it will turn out thin and fast! :bassist:

Hanser is about 5 minutes from my house. I wasn't aware they sold to the public, thought it was strictly to dealers. Thanks for the lead, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed, there might be $100 in it for you!

I was really hoping someone on TB was the one with this Craigslist listing. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

It's a sweet looking bass, although it looks like it may be a lined fretless. Is it possible to buy a fretted neck from Spector so I'd have an interchangable bass?

I know there was a discussion recently about buying Rebop necks directly through Hanser so I believe they do sell to the public but someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Give them a call and they should be able to help you out but if they can't, we can always shoot a message to PJ from Spector and find out the info you need. I know they have replacement necks for Rebop's so it's possible they have them for the Spectorcore's also but I definitely know it is just the neck so it wouldn't come with tuners or anything like that.

This is a major difference for a lot of us (like me ;))
as I'm not as big a fan of the LX series as I am of the Euro4 and Euro5 or NSCRFM series of Czech Spectors.

Fixed my post.

I had no clue that they had (slightly) different names, thanks for the info! Only difference I knew was that the SSD ones were the NSCR series

And the Czech models before the Euros were called NSCRFMs (both SSD and SS). Some had dot inlays and some had Crown. They had solid maple wings, similar to the euro, but had the EMG BT Preamp and a solid brass bridge!! :bassist: Like my CRFM! ;)

Hanser will sell to the public.
Craigslist listing states: It's a "Fretted Fretless":rolleyes:
I don't believe I have seen one of those?
