besides the obvious...TB classifieds, evilbay, used GC and Sam Ash. Where do you guys look for "rare" Spectors. I am looking for a 4 string solid wing Euro Spector with a natural/oil finish and not having any luck.

Any pointers as to where to look? If any of you guys know where I could locate one, please let me know. I am currently bass-less and NEED ME SOME SPECTOR LOVE!!!! :bassist::bassist:

It's becoming more difficult on craigslist

There are a few other sites, I will list them when I get back home. P.S. I got my eye out for you if I see any.

Sam will hook you up! He's da pimp!

i dont think i reposted the final version of this song here on tb. so here it is. i d.i.'d the m80 and mic'd the ampeg. mixed them both and got a good tone. hope you like it.

Right on man, love that song. Sounds great!

So I managed to grab a barely used Forte 4 from Beaver at BC. I literally called out of nowhere and they just happened to have it, so my faux forte 4 will go to Jamie (brotherbassj) and the white JAR is going this Saturday to James up in SC, so the cost of the Forte 4 will eventually be completely covered. Very excited to finally have one. Two basses for one does seem odd, but it will be worth it to me as I really loved the tone of the Forte 5 but not the weight or the neck. This, my Euro LX5/ faux Forte 5 and whatever white Euro LX4 I decide to hold onto (the one from j.kernodle or the white Wimbish that's supposed to get here by the end of the month) and I will be set! My dream will still be a blue on black NS-4 like superdick's but, that will be some major moola and is probably a ways off in the future. But in the meantime I'll have 3 basses that cover all my needs and they all sound fantastic. Happy day my friends, happy day. And its going to get here tomorrow which means I get to audition with it this weekend!

I love it when a plan comes together.

Good for you, Steve. You deserve it!

This is what Spector Karma is all about. :hyper: :bassist: :D

Plenty more should be coming your way.

Sweet deal Steve! 2 for 1 is ok when the 1 is a US! LOL!

I have no doubt you will enjoy it!! :bassist:

Nice job! I like that. Perfect amount of fret buzz. It cuts right through. I really need to pick up another M-80.
Brent

Can you share your settings on the M80? Sounds great!! :bassist:

Nice! String buzz is perfect here! Great tone.

For non-trimpot Tonepump, I just turn the volume on the bass down, then turn amp head up, and the Tonepump is not as strong. I don't know if this is exactly like dialing down the TP with the trimpot, but it works great - my sound guy loves me now, lol.

You are pretty good at planning things Steve. :D And welcome to the Forte club!!

Wow! Well done.

Beautiful top there!

I have this one Tascam US-122 but I have a windows 7 lap top and latency totally bugs me. I use Audactiy, used to use Acid Pro 7 - but way too complicated, I used the Apogee Jam with my iPhone's GarageBand. Works okay, but can't really edit and the interface is too small.

I always listen to all the recordings and never had a problem, but when I click on your link I get a 403 Forbidden error.

Could you post it on soundcloud?

By the way I use d'Addario strings because you can rely on them. I've played whith a lot of other brands, but the quality is not always the same. (Rotosounds had a couple of bad years).
When I play weekly I change my strings every month, but when I use a bass just to play around at home I change them once every 3/4 months. It doesn't matter what brand they are.

Right on man, love that song. Sounds great!

Well its official, the bug had bitten and after work today my precision and fretless are going on the block. I've only been playing the NS-94, and the almighty GAS god is telling me to raise funding for more Spector goodness.

Can anyone tell me if a rebop is a significant step up from the ns-94, or if I owe it to myself to wait and go for the whole neck through experience?

I had its bigger brother the NS-95 and a ReBop 5DLX...IMO, I liked the 95 vs the ReBop. Wish I'd kept the 95 too.

my new bass is about 6 days away :(

Oh yeah....
Drive there now and get it..... :hiding: :D :bassist:

I feel your pain Donny. I was the same way last Sunday. I think it will be worth the wait for both of us:bassist:

Sam, are you telling me that going to the distribution center is doable? Even after hours? If that's the case I would be there in 10 minutes. Even though the place is 20 minutes away:D

It depends if that distribution center has a customer service desk. But usually those are only open till 7PM.

Go to sleep early and it will be with you soon. :hyper: :bassist:

P.S.
You can always do what I do and go search out the UPS track early in the morning. :hiding:

I'm probably going to be staring out the window and reacting to every vehicle that sounds like a truck  They usually get to me before 2pm, thats not too bad.

Nice Donny!

Here's the latest rig of doom. I will never need this much but a guy can dream right?

I can say that Sadowsky Black label stainless and nickel (and flats for that matter) are the best strings I've ever used. When I can't afford them, I hit Carvin for their LaBellas because their prices are so affordable, you can get 6 sets of strings for well under $100. But when I can, I try to get Sadowsky Black Label stainless. Amazing strings.

I gotta remember to check Carvin - I play LaBella Hard Rockin' Steels exclusively; the closest place to me in Charlotte, NC that I have found that carries them is the Bass Gallery in Atlanta, GA.
