From what I understand the ReBopMM 4 string will be on display at Bass Player Live on Oct 20th-21st.

I also hear there is a plan to have sound clips & a video review released that weekend. So we should be getting an answer soon on how it sounds.

Good morning everyone.
Has anyone gotten to play a Rebop MM yet? That model has really been on my mind lately, but I would love to hear opinions on it before I pulled the trigger on obtaining one myself.

mmbongo has a US BO 5'er with the single MM style pickup. You might ask him about the tone.

All I know is that sometime next year I plan on ordering a US BO 5'er with a single MM pickup and an OBP-3 pre!

+1, that's what i'm hoping for. If it can capture some of that 'Ray essence but with Spector ergonomics I'll be all over one.

Time to start saving pennies and cutting back on the take out again.

I've always heard the SSD stuff was great. Jaymi seems to think his SSD NS4 is no slouch, I think.


Of course he does when he's trying to sell and trading stuff, he isn't gonna say it sucks.

I have had at least one of each era and so far, I prefer the SSD to the Kramers based on the beck profile...

I played 2 SSD's and thought they were the same as Euros...So I guess everyone has their own opinions.

uh oh Jeff is at it again I've never played an SSD era bass... I own two "transition" era basses and I love them.

i wouldn't mind having one or two of Jeff's heard tho and to be fair I had heard that somewhere else about the SSDs, but it seems the Czech SSDs are the ones that were awesome, USA quality.

some people don't like the CR4FMs but I think they are great, even compete with modern NS-2s tonewise (nothing touches the looks of the new stuff)

Having not played either one, I'd rather have Jeff's blue Kramer than that SSD era Spector. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the SSD bass was a better bass. After all, Mr. Spector was probably more involved with the SSD one. But there is something more desirable about a Kramer era.

Now let me clarify before Jeff goes thermonuclear. I also wouldn't be surprised if a Kramer was better. Both hi end basses that I'll never own.

Lastly, Jeff is right. A Kramer era Spector is more valuable and the guy is most likely asking to much for the SSD.

This is why there are so many options...There is one for everybody....doesn't really matter which era...if you're happy go with it....for selling purposes, Kramers and Brooklyns retain their value...

what is the post size for knobs on a TP equipped bass? I'm thinking about matching my knobs to my hardware... which will look really cool on jade
