SPECTOR® Club - Part 46

Nah, not harsh :-) I ordered 3 thru Spector. My kramer NS2 came with a graphite nut and wanted to go back to brass so I ordered a brass nut for that and the .123 works well. I went ahead and ordered 2 for the 5 one to keep for stock sizes and the other will work with a .160. If I didn't keep custom gauges and nuts I might not have fooled with it. Could be overkill but it makes me happy. When you play the crap out of your basses you tend to make em into what you want new or vintage.

I was in the treatment room this morning finishing up this round of chemo, I look up at the TV and what do I see for the beginning part where they are bidding on the prices of items? A Spector Euro 5 string! With some books and lesson...

2nd to last guess was 1400, I was like 1401!!! the next lady did it, and won.

I think they said total retail value was 2,600 or something, just weird to look up and see a Spector in a model's hands on The Price is Right.

That's not the first time they have been on there either. I remember Marty O'brien was on an older episode with a Spector also. Let me see if there is a Youtube video of it but that is so cool.

That's been going on for years. Spector used to have endorsed artists stop by the show and perform to "show off" the bass as they talked about it.

Especially since its not like Fender where you can run down to the nearest music store around the corner and pull it off the wall and play it to see if that one is for you or not. nah, i wont, im just jealous is all. Id have to sell all my basses to get the dream bass and thats not gonna happen, ive got deep attachments to a few of them. I'll just keep drooling over all your guys beauts! Dont get me wrong mine a not slackers by any means, just dont have that dream bass, more like dream finish, got two actually, bahama blue quilt Birdeye maple board, or a dark blue matte flame maple build. I was so tempted by Jaymies Blue Kramer when he sold it, I just couldnt manage it. The Bahama Blue on bass centrals site makes me die a little everytime I see it.

We are Family....I got all my brothers (+sisters) and me!!

To me this club is more about the people than basses. I have met lots of friends in this club than mean a lot to me, much more than any piece of wood. Now, the connections I've made here are over very beautiful pieces of wood, but in the end, what ever Spector you have is awesome, even if you don't have one, just like them and hanging out to check them out that's cool with me too. Think Rick James on the Chapelle show "SAS is a hell of a drug..."

Rex Brown's reaction to Marty was hilarious. It is on one of the NAMM video's from 2011 and he says something to the effect of "yeah, I saw you on f***ing Wheel of Fortune or something. Had me rolling.

sorry guys, but i get on here with nothing new to say. the move has been good, but i no longer have a band to play in and hardly have time to play now. i work the weekend so my playing time is non existant. and plus i have envy.

You are not insignificant! Jump back in feet first! You were all excited about your Spectors! Keep the faith, you're one of us! I don't have my dream Spector yet but with just a few mods I might! And it's not a USA.....lol

i just wish i had the cash to buy or do some upgrading. even a euro would be nice, but. hard to do when money is tight. someday i suppose. i still love my spectors. id like to get rid of the legend and get a euro eventually to start with.
