That sounds more like a buyer protection thing. The way that reads to me in regards to sellers is if you shipped the item before the payment is flagged as unauthorized, you might still be protected. My understanding is in Chris' case it's not that it was an unauthorized payment, but rather the buyer is claiming damage or non-receipt since he doesn't have the bass now.
If Paypal has made the decision that the seller is not covered by the Paypal Seller Protection guidelines, I can absolutely see them automatically debiting whatever account to which the funds were withdrawn. In fact I would expect it. Not saying I like the way they handle things or that it's right.
Oh and I can barely read the green font.
This statement really covers that;

True, except for the "potentially lower action" part.
In fact, it is exactly the opposite.
On a given bass for a given pitch, the thinner the string the larger the eliptical movement to sound that given pitch.
The larger the eliptical movement, the more clearance needed before fret buzz will occure.
Thus, the higher the action would need to be.
Plus, there tends to be less fundamental at a given pitch the lighter a given string is.
I'm a fan of the feel of lighter strings, but I tend to stay in the middle
(.045, .065, .080, .100 with .125 or.120 and .032 when low B and/or high C is needed)
because of the performance trade-offs.
And a perfect example of that groove is the song "Floods." Just listen to the solo part that Darrell is playing and the bass part that Rex is playing. It gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. Here ya go:

Ok I'm now bummed, I took my son upstairs for his nap and when I came down stairs I thought I heard a truck. So I said must be Fedex with the pre I ordered. Yeah... well looked outside and he was driving away. Opened the door and he had the little sticker on it. ***.... He didn't even ring the doorbell. So I call the Fedex and told them what was up and they said got to wait till tomorrow
. I think I'm gonna give him a good kick in the teeth. That really sucks lol
Man bad luck there, so what this means is if you need to hit the head you better leave a note on the door or practice running with you pants around your ankles!

IMO/E it depends on the bass. Lighter strings usually give lighter tension. On necks that aren't super strong, there's less pull on the neck with lighter strings which allow the neck to be straighter and allows for a better, lower setup.
My old Gibson T-Bird is like that, and so is my Rick.
Now a super solid neck that's straight no matter what, like a Spector for instance, would probably be able to get just as low or maybe even lower with heavy strings.
Again, all IMO/E.
It seems like every Pantera show sticks in peoples heads forever, LOL. The one I saw at Giants Stadium in NJ ended up with New Jersey state troopers lining the field with shotguns. It was just pure insanity but one of the best shows I have seen in my life.

Since we live in the sticks, small town etc...UPS just drops at the door and goes...sometimes not the right door though. Lol One time I was waiting for a package for our business, 3 months later my summertime neighbor next door brings me the pkg! It was sitting in their house! Their front door was unlocked and the driver opened the door and dropped and left.
When I'm expecting a package I leave the drive gate open, they know by that I'm there and the two German Shepherds are definitely inside with me and not out front, then I just monitor the security cameras looking for the truck, I can't hear it even if he pulls right up to the house but those dogs can and freak out.
Yup, that would be it. When Pantera went on, everyone tried to rush to get onto the field. Unfortunately, the security guards were severely out-numbered and tried to stop them so they just got flattened. Not too long after, state troopers arrived with shotguns and just started lining the field.
That whole day was just pretty insane. I saw some guy try and jump from the 2nd level to the first and just totally trashed his leg. He tried getting people to cheer for him when they carried him out on a stretcher but most were just calling him stupid, haha.

I was at the Nissan Pavillion and saw Pantera for a Ozzfest and the crowd started ripping the sod up from off the lawn and throwing it around! How's that for Metal!!!
After agonizing for weeks over this bass trying to justify another Spector, I gave into SAS over the weekend. Well, no regrets on pulling the trigger on this one. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Can you see the cluster of Alien faces by the neck? So cool! LOL

So basically, they were flinging poo then i guess, LOL. Man, I love Pantera show stories, haha.
37, 38....whatever it takes. Sorry, Mr. Mom reference. I am actually using a .145 as my low B string that I tune down to A and thing it's a bit too floppy which is why I am moving up to a .158. I like high tension on strings though so I might be different than the norm.

Not me. We play in E, drop D, E flat & even drop C, and I use D'Addario ProSteels, .45 - 1.00 gauge on all my basses, for every tuning.
I dig in hard with my right hand (both finger style & picking), but I use a very light touch on my fretting hand, and I've never experienced any "farting out" or any other issues from running lighter gauge strings.
