the thing hurting ns2a's is the price of used euros. you don't have to wait too long for a euro or euro lx to pop up at 800 bucks. I think both are great bargains on the used market. if push came to shove and I had to get rid of my ns2 I would have no problem going back to a euro or ns2a.

Try the Spector Coda sometime and you might find yourself a new Jazz bass sound that you like even more. :smug:

So, my guitar tech & I figured out how to connect the EMG quick connects to a Tonepump, using the EMG adapter block they include.
It's also wired in 18V with the 2 batteries tucked neatly into where the 1 would normally go.

For anyone interested, here's a pic. :)
Sorry for potato. You can that on the block, the black & white leads to the tonepump go on the left-most solder junctions (in that order).

Speaking about Jazz bass - I've just received my Brooklyn NS-2J thanks to Lee and I must say it's the very jazz bass that I've been looking for: J+J config + HAZ + curved body. All ya need) Sound is very tight, surprisingly even response for bolt-on bass across the fretboard and fast attack. Different from my NS-2 but gives what it lacks.

As Donny said, They seem to come in groups. Be patient, you'll find something.

I like NS2As a lot. The kramer era neck, and solid maple construction is top notch. In my opinion, the stock pickups and haz copy preamp are not very good. Some folks like the haz copy preamp. That should be considered when shopping for a NS2a. One upgraded with EMGs is a good thing.

What color are you looking for? maybe I can help you find one.

There are a couple across the country, but they have ludicrous prices, like the one above. :(

I've never seen a replacement knobs for those. I read somewhere that EMG made those knobs. But I don't know for sure.

I have a sack full of the cheap plastic knobs that they use for the Euros (tone pump). I assume you are asking about the rubbery/plastic knobs with the little hex screw. Those have a nicer feel.

Not picky on colour. I just want a 4 string to go with my ReBop 5DLX. I'm finding the NS-2000/5 redundant, albeit a great bass!

As a sidenote, my ReBop5 sounds incredible with the 40J pickups!! Just the bark I was looking for to go with the growl of the TonePump. That 18V circuit has made that thing rather smooth. It's still brittle in the top end, but much more under control. I am getting a hissing, though, when I turn the treble up.

Congratulations on a very special bass. I have a copy. The JA-R. I completely agree with all your observations. The body feels a little slimmer to me, and, as you said, lighter. Love it.

Whats up guys!
Ive been away for a while,(thought i try a different bass for a minute),scooped up a Modulus Q5,didnt keep it that long missed my Euro5 and Rebop)and came back to Spectors strong with a 2012 Euro5LX,flat black w/18 volt HAZ!...I can honestly say Ill NEVER stray away from my Spector Euro's again!!! LOVIN this new bass! (3rd Euro5 in 5yrs)..the grass was never greener with the other instruments,missed my Spectors SO BAD!
I KNOW that most of us here truly KNOW & believe that there isnt a better brand of bass made,(ill never stray again!!)Yet every so often someone mentions that they may actually already play(gig) or GAS for,an over priced fender style bass and or Spector "look like" Warwicks etc...? Even tho they have sum really sweet Spectors at home collecting dust? I dont understand..
I love all things bass guitar,variety is great if you can afford it,but this is the all things SPECTOR club right?
Other basses dont compare,nor are worth mentioning to me.....Sorry,i said it guys,hate on this post if im outta line. (not trying to be)
I agree variety within each players collection is nice,Ive had my fare share of fenders,etc...But if you really arent LOYAL to Spectors and us folks who use and love everything Spector,why play the pages in this forum for sumthin to do?

Seth thanks for the jab.....glad you had a good gig last night, but everyone here is tolerant of playing different instruments as the need arises. We all appreciate each other as people and players. Obviouosly this is the Spector club, but let's not throw stones at people who own other brand basses.....said by one who has more than just a Spector "under their bed collecting dust" :rollno:

Even after I get another Spector (Webster or NS2...or both!) I will keep the NS2a! This comes from a guy who had put it under the bed for the last 7 years while playing his Fenders. At the show last night everyone was once again talking about the sound and how it fit into the mix, the quality of this bass is on a high level and it doesn't have any upgrades (glad PJ convinced me to leave it alone and just find the sweet spot for finger picking as I once always used a pick for that brite attack).
