Does anyone know if there is a 19mm option on NS-5's?

Just the bolt-ons. Not the neck thrus as far as I know.

And I know I've said this before...

PJ Rubal is VERY accessible. He will answer you if you ask him something like this.

I'm 99.9% sure that this option is bolt-on only. But that doesn't mean that if someone really, really wants a 19mm spaced neck thru that Stuart might not consider it. That sort of thing is honestly a conversation PJ and Stuart would have.

But the only way to know is to ASK PJ.

How's the battery compartment fit on your NS-4? The one on mine is so snug, I could leave the cover off & never worry about the batteries falling out.

Congrats again on ordering your new NS-4 - I don't recall ever seeing one with the BEM board yet.
Like your Blue Dream & Black Pearl, it may just be another first.

It's so snug I use two very fine jeweler's flat-head drivers to "grab" the corners of the batteries to pull them up and out.

It's almost impossibly tight.

You know... now that you mention it... It may be the first BEM NS-4.

It'll for sure be the first single MM USA Neck-thru 4-string.

Carlton Armstrong's latest bass will actually be the VERY FIRST Neck-Thru Single MM ever. True to Carlton's playing style it'll be a 5-string. It will be ready before mine is. So he's beating me to that "first". LOL.

Yeah. I think it very well may be the first BEM NS-4. Thanks for pointing that out.

I am just excited I'm going to never have to feel guilty for lusting after vintage Stingrays anymore. LOL. I'll have my own very killer Spector replacement.

hehe, I was actually texting with him this morning. He is doing some experimenting bass wise.

For a couple of reasons... Just to clarify more. LOL.

The Genz is super clean. So using Pro-Tools and SoundForge and GuitarRigPro I can color the tone I get from it any way I want.

Because the Genz head has all the EQ and scooping presets, and it has a tube-preamp and a pre-amp out line... it made more sense to use it as a recording rig.

The Aguilar ToneHammer 350 is VERY BASIC. No effects loop. It has really basic controls. And it SOUNDS better to me live.

So I decided to keep the Aguilar TH350 with the two SL112 Cabs and place the Genz in the rack.

The Genz cabs are currently being used as a monitor stand in my photography studio.

Thanks for clarifying. I see the logic. My one addition is that in a live setting and the bass player is using their cabs as part of their tone they will need to run a direct line to the board for the full frequency spectrum but will also have to mic a cab in order to capture that tone and then mix to taste. I have done this for years.

Yes, yes you can! They recently produced an all maple body, there have been walnut and ash bodies. I have an ash bodied NS-5H2 (PJ setup) on order......

I was just watching... the whole thing was fun, but the Slayer tribute at the end was badass!

I still think the tone out my NS-4 is my favorite.

I love the neck on The Pearl and actually it's just such a great bass to play...

But I REALLY love the neck on the Blue Dream and have found the neck profile I like best (Doug Wimbish).

So the "Steel Monster" will have the Wimbish Profile as well. As will all of my new basses from here forward.

So far my Coda 5XL DLX is my favorite neck of the 5 strings I've had.
The Forte 5 neck was close but 2nd favorite.
I'll have to measure the Coda 5XL neck and compare it to the notes that I sent to you for neck data. I'll also send them to you using your chart.

I had the two prototypes here in my office over the holidays. They're REALLY nice.

I thought they were amazingly well crafted and the necks were right on the money... side by side with the USA Coda the Korean Factory did a great job matching the neck shape and profile.

Hmmm...you're wetting my Coda 5 Pro S.A.S.
But it'll have to take a backseat to the planned NS-5XL WCR.

BC currently has a Spalted Maple NS-5H2 for sale. If I had free flowing cash it'd have SOLD on it!
