SPECTOR® Club - Part 59

What's up with the spectacore's I never see any one talking about them ?
The SpectorCores are a bass in its own category. There's one or two on here that have them. They don't get much recognition indeed. :ninja: About 2 years ago I about bought a SpectorCore 5 but...at the time I couldn't find a good YouTube video and anyone on here that played one. Back then I found a dealer selling new ones for $599.00! I thought about it for a week! I was sooo close to pulling the trigger.
Any one been playing with their set ups lately and tweaking to get their tone?

My new to me ns2a, is going to get a SS fret refret :). I'm curious as to how it's going to sound but I got a hunch it's gonna be sweet!
Yes! Just this week I changed out the BT preamp for an older NS-2A 9V Haz Copy preamp. LOVE LOVE LOVING it! My wife was listening to me play and ogle and commented herself how great it sounds. :D What a tone monster this is turning into! Next step when I get some funds is active EMG 35 P/J pickups. THEN, let the beast snarl! Hehehe :bassist:
Hey guys if anyone happens to see a preamp from an ns 20004 anywhere lemme know. Thinking bout dropping one in my rebop. Finally got to play the ns live tone was perfect for what I want. Inrealize the nexk thru maple body makes a diff in tone too but just wanna see how it sounds. Thanks.
Dude! I have one, BT preamp, for sale. I'll PM YOU.:)

Rockin the NS2000 4 for the first time on stage. Hadnt played it in a month. Had been using rebop but decided to use it for the show. Great sound and love the sustain on this bass. Gotta get used to the weight. Even got a compliment on the sound.

I agree that the Aggie OBP-2 could work, and if for some reason it can't be paired with the EMGs, I would have to decide between the Bartolinis, the Nordstrands or the Aggie noiseless 1970's single-coils. Either that, or pair the EMGs with a Tonepump (provided Spector would build it).
Looks like I have some thinking & research to do....:hmm:

My fretless has EMG J's in it paired with an OBP3 pre, so I don't see why you couldn't have that setup if you asked nicely! :D

I am actually wishing I had opted for a set of hum-cancelling passive p'ups in the fretless...Barts/Aggie's/Nordies...but I can change them at anytime provided I find a set that will fit the current route properly!

My next 2 Spector builds will definitely have Barts and Aggies in them! :bassist:

I currently have an M80! I bought the single because I only had one bass that NEEDED a case at the time I purchased it. I would like to have a double at some point...but that would require me to have TWO basses! ...someday! :D

I own two Monos; a single and a double. I use the single most of the time for rehearsal, double for gigs when I bring a spare. And come this fall when I get my USA I may need to bring all three of my Spectors to gigs. :D

I have full confidence in these bags. I won't hesitate to put my NS-5XL in one. The only thing I wouldn't do is throw them in the back of a band truck to rattle around with the equipment. But that's the beauty of gig bags, you take them with you and you can protect them too. They ride in the car with me. I have been sold on gig bags every since I got my Steinberger XM2 in 1989 and all it came with was a gig bag. It was REALLY handy when we'd play gigs in big cities like Dallas where we'd play for a week and each night had to look for a parking space and I always had a good walk to the club carrying my bass.

I'd love to hear a side-by-side with the Barts and EMGs; I have never been a fan of Barts, especially for playing hardcore. However, it has been a while since I have played them.

Brought my rig home to fiddle with my tone. The TonePump was hammering the front end into distortion. Probably would sound godly through a SVT, Not so much through my 800RB. I played with the output on the Pump a bit lowered the input volume and raise the low master, but there was no way to clean it up. Tossed 2 new 9 Volts in it just to be safe, Nothing. Then I remembered there was a 10db pad on the input, LOL

This thing pounds now. I cant hammer the front end like I did with my passive Fenders but I dont need too. I also went through my pedal board Added my M80 and MXR 10 band so theres more fiddling to do.\

Local Guitar Center has a 810E, A SVT Classic and a 7Pro and a 1001RB. Im gonna have to bring Rex down and give them a whirl.

I am working on getting a DAW back on my mac so I can actually record me practicing and then some solo pieces that I have been working on.

I want to record the EMGs first and then I will think about changing them out so everyone can hear an A/B comparison with the same bass, settings and tune etc, but with the different pickups. :bassist:

Plug the 1001 through the svt. :o

Im sure it will be amazing. Thats Donny's rig and I love his tone. Im probably going to get a 810 cab next. Cant be in a metal band with a 810:bassist:

i want another 410 neo to go with the one i have :) that way i can split if i need to and stack if i want to piss people off :bassist::bassist::bassist:

Try a dually or a bergantino nv215. You will be amazed. An aguilar 412 is also very tastey!!!!
