Last night I ran the Rex through the 800rb/Ampeg combo, The CRFM definitely cuts better but I think the DC's in the Rex are a bit fatter sounding.

I haven't played the Rex with the DCs but when I saw rex live with Kill Devil Hill, his USA RXT bass has DCs and it was exactly like you said, fatter. Its interesting, the Rex has a bit more wood and with the DCs that must be a HUGE sounding bass. That particular CRFM is really close tonally to my coveted Jade bass. You should have a similar tone running a GK through an Ampeg fridge... so I know you are loving it

I just got a copy of Stop The Bleeding, from itunes though, not the bandcamp, I only have this giftcard at the moment, and it sounds great! The more club members bands I check out, the more I realize how many talented bassists are in the club! It's awesome, I love checking out new music.

Congrats! They're heavy beasts, but sound so nice with that BT pre & the HZs! I sold mine, due to the weight, and wish I still had a passive P-up Spector.
This one is not too heavy at all
And I switched out the BT circuit and implanted the Haz Copy 
It's an angry BEAST!

Nice guys, love hearing what members are doing in their projects. Tone talk is great but nothing like hearing some Spectors in action.

hey gang- I purchased a beautiful USA Spector about 2-2.5 months ago on ebay, and there was some damage sustained during shipping, and while waiting for FedEx to respond, I left the bass untouched the entire time (it was killing me - like a kid waking up Christmas morning, only to be told he can open his presents until spring!). Well, there's some good news and bad news... the good is that FedEx is paying for the repairs on the bass - and I finally got to sit down with it (after I changed the strings - I had a set of brand new SIT's nickels) - WOW! 
The tone is pure bliss! I had my 'practice rig' with me at home (Carvin BX500 --> GK Neo112 + GK Neo212 [Effects loop: DarkGlass B7K --> SansAmp BDDI])... I really didn't even need to use the effects loop - just an amazing sounding bass!
The bad... I was told that my job is going to be lost (I figure the end of June, maybe mid July)
- I shouldn't have too much trouble finding another job (from what I've been told the software developer market is still pretty good- hope it stays that way).
So, just a quick question for my Spector brothers out there - have any of you tried Ernie Ball Cobalts? I love them on my Pedulla's, but since I'm loving the tone on the SIT's on my Spector (for the short run I did with it), I wanted to get some other opinions. I guess it would help if I told you that I'm a metal player (Maiden, Sabbath, etc).
and yes, with just a quick test drive, I can easily see this moving into the #2 spot on my arsenal... or a tie with #1 (I can only imagine how this monster is going to sound when I use it on my big rig)

I have a EMB BQC pre that looks like it's brand new. I have all the pieces, knobs, etc, and wires to do 18 volts..........I'm going to post it on the board but figured I would ask here first in case someone wants to mod their Spector with this plug and play pre........PM me if interested.
