That's awesome. Ice, your arm must be getting buff from all of that using-the-Coda-as-a-pointer stuff.![]()
I do not understand how Ice was on a west coast tour yet wound up in New York! lol
I googled Peavey Max and the amp wasn't like what's out there now. It looked like this...

It was a bass preamp w/8 band eq paired with the age old CS800 power amp. All built into a road case. This thing is still in my shed, dead as a doornail.![]()
LMBO! That's too funny Samlol
This is where I've been buried for the past while...

That's only the second one of those I've ever seen. I played through one once years ago and loved the sound. I don't know if I'd still like it today and if it's as heavy as the old CS800's, I'd be running in the other direction...
Interesting...i'm pretty shure thats how the matte polly finish is done at the factory, the matte finish on my euro lx4 is way to flat to be the result of a sprayed flat finish, I believe it is sprayed and then sanded with 1500-2000 grit . even the best of spray jobs will have a natural flowing look to it even when spraying a flat finish but my matte spector is totally flat that can only come from sanding
Congratulations on your first Spector and welcome!Hi all - First post!
I'm a freelance trumpeter who decided to take up bass, and decided to go with the Spector Legend 5 as my first axe.
Being a bit of a tone freak, I am definitely intending to swap out the stock Spector pickups and replace them. I'm looking for something that can provide me with a nice range of tonal colours, and still cut through when needed.
What do you guys think? Should I try and go for the similar soapbars that go in this models bigger and more expensive brothers, or go with something totally different?
Glad and proud to start my bassing as a member of the Spector club![]()

Sam I'm hiding my pics of me before end up on top of a ferry.. Ice you got to admit that was hilarious![]()
There is no way that's not going to move fast. Wow. At least it doesn't have to traverse the tundra this time!

And off she goes to Texas! Now I'm a mono-Spector guy. Then again, if you're going to only have one Spector, swampy is a pretty good one to have within arms-reach.![]()

I noticed that in your sig. I used an 1820 for years. I biamped it with a Peavey Max bass amp. Very good sound. I used another 1820 in full range to play my keyboards through. I laid the keyboard cab on it's side and put the bass amp on top of it putting the 10's right at ear level. Must've put over 75,000 miles on the rig!

So... How many of you are still using the age old speaker setup of a 4-10 cab on top of a single 15 cab? Just curious.![]()
i'm running a gk700rb into gk neo 410+115 cabs and using the gks biamp setup with the separate 75w amp running the tweeters, I love how this setup puts the controle for the tweeters right on the amp with the other tone controles instead of on the back of the cabs, this setup also runs a full range signal to all the paper conesSo...
