Man that is so gorgeous! I love the old wood and the old retro look. Great job! I believe you'll need a 50k or 100k pot for the balance pot. There are guys on here that can tell you for exactly.

Yeah she's been around the block a few times, but I don't mind a gal with some miles on her lol.

Yeah I have a 500K pot that I'm going to experiment with just to see how that works. The volume pot is actually already a 500K which I thought was a little weird, but who knows.

Thanks! Yeah the phase switch kind of surprised me. It doesn't really cause a weird phasing sound between the 2 pickups, it just scoops out a little bit of the mid thump in the P pickup, and gives it a little bit of a Jazz pickup impersonation. I still like the standard sound better, but its totally usable in both positions.

I forgot to mention I also have the original plastic Spector knobs as well, which will get mounted once I sort out the balance pot issue, so aside from the preamp being a copy and 1 dummy switch, the bass will be pretty much exactly as it was from the factory.

I'm having them do a walnut burl on walnut bass, Pau board, abalone and gold HW. I'm pretty excited. Stuart said its one of the nicest pieces of walnut burl that he's ever seen. Strong words from THEE man!

About a year ago I was throwing around ideas of NS-2X or a Forte4X. JPS was more than helpful with photos and ideas, I wanted to pull the trigger, but life has a way of sidetracking your best laid plans. After a death in the family and a move to another state I never got the chance to order it. Now this comes out. I will have one, maybe not on the first run of orders to the US. But but by this time next year, I will have a nice matte white one in the collection.

I gotta wonder how many owners will remove the brass knuckles. I'm guessing it's well over 50%. Not that it doesn't look good if that's what you like. It was executed well for what the sig model should have. I just think a lot of people will remove it.

I think if the knuckles were not assoicated with a band logo, I would sport it. Or, even being in a cover band you could get away with it. But, in a original band you might want to come up with somethin different I would think. I think a lot of people that buy that mode will be based on the knuckles and association, that's why people buy sig models.

Maybe if it was something that was street priced under $1K, but I can't see someone spending $1400 just because they like FFDP, but maybe I'm underestimating their popularity. I don't listen to them.

It's like the Webster. I love feel and sound of the bass, and the design is awesome for what it's supposed to be. But I am always at odds with myself about gigging it because I don't want people to think I'm a Webster or Cannibal Corpse disciple. Don't get me wrong, Alex is a phenomenal player, but truth be told I have barely listened to anything he's done. I'm not a fan of CC, and I just haven't had a chance to absorb the Blotted Science stuff. So that's one of the reasons why I expect to eventually move it.

Thanks! That was a huge honor bestowed on me, and that's another reason I really want to keep the bass. If I hadn't done my US builds I could see playing the Webster indefinitely. It's that good. But I feel like I need to kind of make one of my US builds "my" bass, so to speak.

Of course. After all they were built for you. But then again I can see feeling obligated to hang on to the Webster.

For a time the neck profile was the biggest attraction to the Webester I would think. The Wimbish is a Wimbish because of the neck and color but you can order a Wimbish neck profile in another color. Ian Hill same way. Most of Spectors sig models have something design or componet wise that is attractive at a good level price without having to custom order those specs. The only thing I see on the CS sig is completly cosmetic. It even incorperates the body style of another sig model. Still a nice bass though.

Yeah I was about to correct myself on the PJ setup. That is a plus over the Rex in my book.
