There were two prototypes, BTW... one in black cherry burst gloss - the standard ReBop finish... the other in a stealth, matte black like Mike Kroeger's basses.

I really pushed for the matte black color. In the end, it's honestly all up to PJ. And he wanted to offer a blue black matte finish.

I am a black guy personally. I mean The Blue Dream is amazing and my Water Cured Redwood is amazing. But The Black Pearl is still my favorite.

Since I no longer own a Stingray, I think one of these could fill that void rather nicely... :bassist:

Hey guys, it's been a whole since I've been on here, but I made an offer on a black zebop, but it has a cracked neck, it's an easy fix, but I just don't know if I should do it. Thoughts?

Hopefully the attachment works....

If done properly, the repair will be stronger than it was prior to the break.
Meaning, if there would be another blow to the neck, the repaired joint would hold and wood around it would break.

Youch!

Personally, I never trust repairs of that nature. :S Fingerboard? Sure. Neck? Nada!

I'd hit him at like $3-400 and then buy a new neck from Hanser MG! ^_^

My guitarist had this exact break in his Les Paul and it was fixed and better than ever now. Still, cracked necks are nasty business.

They can be better, because you're adding bracing & potentially more bolts. I just don't like the idea of using something that already broke once. :S

How much do necks run? I'm not opposed to that idea.

Hanser MG quoted me at $400ish for a Maple w/ black blocks. The Rosewoods with MoP are cheaper.
