TCE RH450
I just seem to keep coming back to it. There's just something I like about it's feature set. I tried it last night at practice for the first time with the NS-5XL and the tone killed.
The presets are an important feature if I'm going to be switching between the NS-5XL and an NS-2 all night. I was using two SansAmp RPMs with the Shuttle and it all just seemed too much, in addition to running a 900 watt amp into a 600 watt cab.
I was using a TCE Blacksmith into an Aggie GS412 and I was really liking the sound but the whole rig was complete overkill. I sold it all and started my quest for something else. All the while I had a RH450 too that I'd been using for my small pickup gigs.
So I'm trying the RH450 in rehearsal and if that works out, then I'll take this money from "cleaning house" and pick up an RH750 for the band and keep the RH450 for the smaller gigs again.
That's a reasonable price, but I see he posted "open to offers" after you posted this, so you might get it a bit lower....
One way to tell if advertised basses are actually Legend series, is they all have curved bodies. Similar, but not quite as curved as th euro, and US basses.
I almost closed a trade on an RH750 awhile ago. I was really disappointed when it didn't work out, as I'd heard great things.
I ended up with a GK MB Fusion for gigging, and an MB200 for a practice
amp. Very happy with both, although who knows how long that will last...
Just wanted to let you fellas know that I had my first ever band audition today. It could not have went much better for me My Forte-X plugged into their vintage Ampeg really brought the thunda', and I nailed all four songs every time and we got along really well. I know they were impressed that I've only been playing for 2 years. I guess it will all boil down to how well the other applicants did, and I know there were quite a few. I've learned a lot in these forums ... so Thanks! I'll keep you apprised as the situation unfolds. Louis

You're not going to notice much, if any difference in volume between the two.
Read the numerous threads about the power of the two heads and you may be surprised.
The RH 750 has IMO a nicer feature layout. And the Tweeter Tone is pretty sweet.
I've been demo'ing a 750 with a pair of the RS112 cabs.
Ballsy rig.
And the amp is brutally loud regardless of what you read on TB about its ratings.
I really had a chance last night to open up mine with my newly acquired Euro5LX.
Friday I was having "issues" with the silly non - trim pot Tone Pump, so I swapped out to an emg.....
Anyway, I ended up using it all night and my NS-4 ended up just sitting on the stand.
I've been pretty much a straight up 4 string player for a few years, only pulling out a 5 on a few gigs here and there, but I'll tell ya, I very well as be splitting time on a 5.
That thing sounded awesome.....
I should have grabbed one of these a long time ago!

I gotta be straight with everyone on his, the G string nearly falls off the fretboard, making me have to watch my technique just a bit, but other than that, I like and have both neck widths and they both work for me.

Oh I've read all kinds of threads about the power output of these amps. (Jeez what a can of worms) I've been reading the whole RH750 thread and people there do state that the Rh750 is a louder amp regardless of the stats. I don't know. I do know that I want the feature layout like what the Blacksmith had and the RH750 will give me that.
Funny, I'm the opposite of you. I was a strictly five string player for 20 years but this year I bought my first four string (NS4CR) and I'm loving it. That's why I'm settling on an NS-5XL and an NS-2, and I'll be swapping back and forth at will depending on the song.

I played 5 strings (had a German 'Wick Thumb NT5 and SS-II 5 and a Carvin XB75) for probably 10 years in a few different bands. Picked up a 4 (a JBass in this case) and realized I'd been away from home all that time. Now I own nothing but 4s. I'd consider getting another 5 if I were in a position that called for it certainly but the 4 is just home for me.

I agree... I love trying amps out. I would buy yours if I had the money, I've always wanted to try a shuttle

Which is why I've been through almost 10 preamps in the last couple years......Try to explain to your wife why they're all different......
Looking at getting some Aguilar preamps and speakers. Local store has them for their bass room, and a legend4x plugged into them sound phenomenal. Only bass/ amp combo I've used that have made strings on other basses ring.
