There is a Euro SSD 5 listed on GC used for $999.
But it has a busted truss rod.
They'll blow it out for $500 as is.

Try GHS Infinity Steel or Aroura Strings. I Know DR made red ones at one point, not sure if still.

I was looking into it more after I posted that, and you're correct, the values are too far off, I considered a 250K in the treble position but am not sure how that would affect the tone when the TonePump is running.

As for the taps, the HZs are able to be tapped, so I swapped the volume pots for 500k P/Ps. I wanted the option since I use them on my Euro 5 a lot.

So, if the HZ can be tapped, can the 40J?? :D I'd love to attempt this on my 'Bop.

I was down in Tampa this week for work and grabbed a used black euro off the wall at Guitar Center. nothing out of the ordinary, just a trim pot tone pump bass. that store has a multitude of poorly set up basses, and I know from being down there a couple months ago that this bass has been in stock a while. point I want to make is that the stability and playability of spectors is something to be commended. the previous owner had clearly done a decent setup at one point and it hadn't seemed to budge at all. At $1199 it wasn't a killer deal but it's certainly worth it.

The individual HZ pickups can be tapped because they have 4 leads for the coils coming out. Im thinking you want a parallel/series thing and you have dual 40Js. That can be done, I know that when you do that, when you switch to series, only 1 of the vol will function and act as a master vol.
