Almost ready. Next comes some sanding then it gets the matte finish.

Mmmmmmmm......chocolate

This has come quite way upgrade wise for me, but now in its final form it has EMG 35P & J pickups and a Mighty Mite MM114 pre. This is beastly, I owe it to flipping the EMG 35J upside down, shifting the coil up and the pre copy giving it that Spector sweetness. Gotta get some better pics tho.

Beautiful! Do not see these in orange trans here. Who da thought about turning the J upside down would make that much difference?! Huh
WELCOME To our family! :hyper::bassist: This will only be THE first of MANY to come yet. :D

What's the best I can get for 4-500? I could spend more, but I want to bond with a bass.. Never happened before. :(
a legend or NS2A or ns2000/4 or 5 all on the used market.. can't go wrong with any of them

Save up for a Czech/Euro man, honestly. It'll be worth it. Especially if you want to bond. I liked my Legend but can't say I "bonded" with it. You can get an NS4CR/CRFM or Euro4 for $800-900 depending on options/features. It's a world of difference. You may can get a ReBop for $700-800 but I'd search for a deal and get a Czech/Euro 4.

Nice pic. Watch your head on that stuff. You don't know where it's been. :p

Wish I could've heard the tone. I sat in on a friends open mic session Tuesday night and took Mr. Brownstone (trying that name on for size) and plugged into an Acoustic w/810 cab. Kept everything about flat, added a little bass and treble from the bass and got a really cool tone. Can't wait to hear my NS-2. :D

For a name what ya think of,"Chocolate Trance"??? Very fitting. :D That's what I feel every time I look at your pics!

I'm telling ya...Acoustic makes some really nice rigs! I played thru their 810 rigs and thought, HUH! This sounds really nice! And less $$...When I need another Big Cab, I will definitely be looking into those.
I'm really happy with the Acoustic B-20 I bought last Dec. A beautiful sound! :bassist:

Very nice collection!! All your basses are USA Spectors? aRe they build to your specifications?

Btw, I love the red one all the way to the right :hyper:

I bought my 1st USA Spector (the red Brooklyn 4)in the fall of 1990.I've had many other basses since,Ken Smith,Marleaux,Sadowsky to name a few.I've found my self back to my first love,Spector. So I took all the things I liked from the other basses I used to play and made IMHO the best basses I could think of!

So, BC basically has the Euro 4 that I want... I can't decide if I should get this one, or wait and have one made with the maple FB on it? What do you cats think?

I'll probably still do the Barts/Aguilar 2-band pre "upgrades" but anyway. Can't decide on the cosmetics.

Speaking of next Spector purchases...I'm at a toss-up, right now. I applied a debt consolidation loan, which will also give me about $2000 in extra funds. With that, I'd like to get a new bass. There's a 2011 Fender MIA Dlx Jazz V in my local Long & McQuade that they're asking $1500 used for. I'm sure I could talk the sales clerk (my bass tech) into $1300 cash.

That being said...I'd REALLY like to get another Spector. Maybe a Euro 5, or a used NS-5 (if that's even a possibility).

What can I get for $1-2000 Canadian, after taxes/shipping/duty?
Not even a NS-5 :ninja: used start at $3600. A used Forte 5, New Euro 5 or ReBop 5DLX...

That's cool too. I was going to go with Chocolate Thunder at first but I kinda lean towards Mr. Brownstone 'cause is so R&R... You know G 'n R and all that. :bassist:

That's a nice one. I like it. I'll never tell someone how to get the "sound" that's in their head. But there's something about Spectors and EMG pups. They are simpatico. Give the EMGs some time before jumping into an upgrade. IMHO

Yeah I understand. Both my Czech 4, Czech 5 and Brooklyn NS-2 had the EMGs, but after playing my Lakland so much this last year, and prior in all my various Modulus basses, I really like that almost "natural" compression that Barts give, so that's why I wanted to give them a whirl in a Spector and see how they are. I guess I can PM Todd and ask him what he thinks about a direct A/B comparison with his "stock" ones vs. the NS4 he has for sale that have the Bart P/J setup in it.

So I pulled the trigger on that ReBop with the cracked neck. Got it yesterday morning, glued the neck up last night and it's back in playing condition. Unfortunately it took a bump in shipping and got a little damage on the body. I got the repair cost refunded and got the bass at a steal. I'll get some pics up later.

Hey everyone, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet, but the Spector Web Store has FREE shipping until the end of October on all orders - I just snagged another Spector Hoodie for myself, and the Free Shipping deal works for the US AND Canada too! :bassist:

Enter the coupon code FREESHIPSPECTOR when you check out, I'm obviously not affiliated with the company, but thought if anyone would dig this deal it'd be the Spector club members.
