SPECTOR® Club - Part 69

That is gorgeous! Congrats!!

Why not pick up a set of Schaller strap locks (I prefer them anyway) so you can use one strap for them all or interchange straps as you please?

IME, the Dunlop straps don't torque on the fastening screw as much as the Scallers do. That's really the downside to the schallers. They put the torsion point so far away from the body that they come loose often. I have to tighten mine at least weekly.

Hmmm...so I should look for a Euro 5LX, instead.
Maybe that matte blue Euro 5LX in the classifieds. ^_^
I wonder what the duty costs would be crossing the border to Canada... :hmm:

That blue matte Euro 5 is very very nice. I'm kinda sorta eying it myself, but I decided I really need a solid 4 banger as I've got 2 world class 5'ers already. I would check and see what the difference would be. You'll just about have a one of a kind Euro with that piece.

Hmmm.... That doesn't happen to me. I occasionally tighten the part on the strap but never the screw.

+111 for me. I only use Dunlops for this reason. I had Schallers come loose twice on a gig before.
My problem is I can't stand my straplock pins NOT to match the hardware lol. So I have change the pins on the strap each time I get a new bass if it's different. Or when I use more than 1 stage bass, I have to have multiple straps. :D

I think a pickguard can add a certain missing flare to specific basses. Take the Coda as an example. The pickups are small, as are the knobs. It has a nice figured top, but I find it looks fat & flat without some sort of accent piece, like a pickguard. Throw a typical Jazz guard on there & I think it would look gorgeous. The NS bodied basses don't need this. They have a smaller body & larger pickups, which leads to a more balanced look.

I know Ice would see this as heresy, but I'd love to see his with a white pearl guard. :D

HERESY...HERSEY I SAY!!!:eek::eyebrow::rollno::p
Actually while reading the talk about PG's a Pearl White for my Coda 5XL DLX did come to my mind as well, Hmmm...might have to look into this. :)

For several months now I've had one strap and two basses. One with black hardware and one with gold. I chose the black strap attachment because it matched the strap and that looked pretty darn good to me. YMMV

But... As soon as my NS-2 arrives I'm setting them both up (NS-2 & NS-5XL both ordered w/Schaller) with their own straps and their own wireless transmitters. Then I'll have the hardware match all around.

So looks like I'm probably going to be putting a deposit on an Ian Hill sig with maple neck and black hardware soon enough.

Why do I do this to myself? I don't even play in a band anymore!

NICE! I owned an Ian Hill equipped with the Trim Tone Pump...it was an amazing Bass! :bassist: I believe you'll love. I've given thought about buying another IH, but, alas it is 1 string short...:(

I'm *thinking* about selling my black NS 2000/5 equipped with korean haz copy preamp. I only have a gig bag for it, but if someone on the east coast is interested I can pick up a cheap case on CL... The only reason I'm thinking about this is that this bass doesn't have the same output as all my others.. but it sure plays like a dream. If someone is interested let me know in a PM. Thanks guys.

O ya, this was Ice's bass, he can confirm it is SWEET

Oh YES! That IS a sweet playa for sure! As a note...If it had DC pickups it'd be a dynomite sounding BEAST!!! :bassist::bassist::bassist: Buy it guys when it comes up 4sale!
