Great price. Hey, I just thought of something that Todd recommended, it's called Lewis Fiddlebrite Lemon oil and it was made for fiddles that have ebony boards. He used it on my Pau Ferro board but the only problem is I have not been able to find any of it yet...so...keep a look out for it and let us know if you find it.

Hard to find a USA NS-2 to actually play before buying, but well worth the effort. :bassist:
I purchased my NS-2 and NS-4 basses online, never having played either model before, (I had owned several Euros though) and it turned out to be the two best purchases I've ever made.
These two basses define "my sound", and ended my 35-year search for the perfect bass. :D

Kinda good news...had to sell my Euro5LX, and thought my SSD NS4 may have to go, but looks like I may be able to hang onto it.
Have it with me at the gig right now.

The guy playing the Forte and the NS-2's in the YouTube video is actually Omer (Trailight) not Sam (LimaGuy), but you're right in a sense...they are both great players ;)

The Forte is definitely a 34" scale

Most definitely man...I used my JAR for another heavy gig tonight, this time at the House of Blues...it just has copious amounts of punch and growl, I'm definitely glad I gave it some more playing time before fully committing to parting with it...now I know for sure that if I ever get around to spec'ing a custom build it'll be another J/J setup :D

Guys, just wanted to share my idea how to make comfortable thumbrest on top of P-pup on your Spectors. Many of us rest our thumb on the top of P-pup cover and it's a real sweetspot for finger playing. My Kramer era 25 year old NS-2 has a pup cover very worn from thumb resting, such as the screw head sticks out and makes no good surface to rest your thumb any more, if playing long set it's uncomfortable and even painful.
What I did is simply stuck a small strip of velcro (the wooly part of it) on top of the pup to cover the screw head and it works fine.
I feel no screws under my thumb any more :) When it's worn completely just replace it with another piece.
Easy :)

Anyone have any experience with the Glockenclang preamp? I just traded phat for his Forte and he has a tone pump in there.Although i like the tone pump in my Euro 4lx,i am thinking i want something different in the Forte.I would really like to find a 9v us preamp,but as we all know they are hard to come by.I will probably end up going with the tried and true obp 2 or the Glock.Anyone ever compare the two?

Sorry, I've never heard of one...but I'll vouch for the OBP 2/3, which I'd go with the OBP 3. :):bassist: At 18V that animal will give you all the growl you'll want or tame it down to clean tones. Very versatile pre! :bassist:

Not this weekend, Ice. This is a family weekend as the all other weekends are for me at least for another couple of months, I have to help my wife with two small sons at home:) She takes care of both of them on her own five days a week when I work so I can share at least two days of my week to bring up my boys)

Family is most important! :cool::) Before you know it, they'll be out and on their own.

I'm down with you guys. The JA-R is an underrated Spector. The Deep set bolt on neck and the Quan bridge definitely gives a wonderfully present, cutting, biting, tone. Unplugged. The dual active Js provide a very focused, tight, crisp tone. The ultra heavy low end is guaranteed to please. I wholeheartedly agree with Donny. The Tonepump is wicked in this bass. I've been contemplating putting my Forte up for sale in the classifieds, simply because it's not been getting played since the J/J came in the house. The other thing I'm really digging, someone else mentioned this as well, is how the Dual Js sound with effects. They get along really well.

Like I said before, Omer is close to prodigy level. And I really mean that since he has been playing bass only for around 4 years now. He has the chops of someone playing 40 years.
