NICE picture!:bassist: hey, is that a Michigan hat I see over your right shoulder?:D GO BLUE!
I am thinking to convert my Rebop 5 string to fretless with fretlines .
Someone have picture of fretless freatboard with crown inlays ?
Hmmm...you normally don't see inlays on fretless let alone crowns. Sometimes someone will have a 12th fret inlay only. Good luck:)

I'm thinking of getting an inexpensive Spector fretless i.e. Legend 5 or Euro 5 to try first to see if it's me or if I can handle it, before paying big bucks on a USA model. I have really great intonation so I believe I'll be okay. But want to make sure.

Hello,

Is there any site on the internet where I can hear an American NS2 neck through being soloed? I'm interested in one and none of my dealers in the area stock American Spectors, let alone the NS2.

Oh btw, thanks for all the great fotos of your basses here on this thread! It was great to see just about every finish and wood option shown here!!

Joe

David, I hope you are feeling better and things are going well now.

Thanks Donny.

Pretty complete run down on tones and different preamps.

Look what the brown truck delivered last night!

Its was pretty rough the way it arrived, but I spent some time with it this AM with some steel wool, polish, and a new set of strings (DR Low Rider nickels), and I am in love! However, I noticed some cracks in the ebony board (I know ebony can be prone to cracking)… the store also didn’t disclose that there are chips on the side of the neck/fretboard (I know its just a clear coat, but still); has anyone experienced this issue with ebony, and what did you do about it? If this is an issue, I have 10 days to return it.

Another thing I noticed was that the truss rod nut was more like a Phillips head - all of the other Spectors I’ve had used allen wrenches, so I’m not sure if the truss rod is original (not that it really matters, as it does work).

Jeff is an Ebony guy and can probably tell you the best stuff to use for treating the neck....

man I'm soo glad I was able to get this JAR back. The EMG J pups paired with the tone pump is magical. I put some nickel plated blue steels on it today and it is one growly beast. I'll be gigging it tomorrow, but I'm loving this bass again. And these strings are cool, very growly in the low mid.

The more I play mine, the more I think I'll just live with the neck profile...it really is a beastly sounding bass :bassist:

Also, did you notice you got some screen time on the Spector BPL video? :D

No it was a poster. There's no love for Michigan in Oklahoma, buddy! This is big 12 country ;)
You never know...sometimes a Wolverine will take his life in his own hands and wear one amongst competitors.:ninja: So I had to ask. :D

Congrats! A beautiful Euro 5! :hyper::bassist: You might be able to salvage the ebony by putting a humidifier in your bass case and in time it might rehydrate. Also use lemon oil liberally on it. Did you get a great price on this bass?
I think one of the guys in the club had a fretless neck for sale, if he still has it available I'm sure he will let you know!

Ebradfordrich had one for a ReBop 4 on the classifieds but phat bought it.

Patience Grass... Ahh nevermind. ;)
LOL
Ho requests pictures
there should be some pics from the show… I sure will post a few.

If I do end up keeping mine I'll probably take the bass to Eric Chaz to have him shave the neck down, I certainly wouldn't mind a smoother matte feel to the neck instead of the slicker high gloss...and I could care less what the back of the neck looks like ;)
