SPECTOR® Club - Part 74

Working on a bunch of new music for the new year with a few different bands, here's an EP from a year or two back with some of my studio buddies...recorded with my upgraded Spector Rex through a variety of Tech 21, Aguilar & Darkglass gear, definitely some of the meanest tones I've ever had ;) :bassist:

I'll have some newer stuff up soon...

Thanks for the kind words Spector brothers!

I just uploaded another EP that I recorded with a different group a month or two ago: https://soundcloud.com/matthew-the-bass-player/sets/after-life-ep

I'll be getting to some new demos next :bassist:

Aaaaand here's another playlist with some demos for tunes scheduled to be released this year: https://soundcloud.com/matthew-the-bass-player/sets/demos

Now to PM Adam and talk about that Rex, back to your regularly scheduled Spector programming....

So aside from JPS, am I going to be seeing anyone else at NAMM next weekend?

Also, here's another Soundcloud link; definitely not as heavy, more in the indie/rock vein, but the bass tone is still undeniably Spector ;)

We're actually releasing a new EP in a few weeks, I used my Coda and NS-2 on the new tracks, and with any luck we'll have copies pressed in time for NAMM to sign after our showcase at the Casio booth :bassist:

I like the bass tone in all of these, I'm not into the heavy fuzz on a bass but respect what your doing in the songs...would be nice to double the parts with one fuzzy and one with the bottom cutting is all I would try but I also understand that it might not be good for the creation/artistic approach.

Coming in on Part 74! My recently acquired Legend 4 bubinga. Love this bass so much. Except for when I need my Foundation fretless, this is my #1 axe. The inlay decals were on it when I got it, and they're staying put. The EMG HZ P/J configuration rocks, and I can't recall when I've been this happy with my tone. Hoping to pick up a fretless Legend or Spectorcore soon. Number please!?!

We shall see. :D I have a plan in the works where I'm putting a chrome Spector look-alike bridge on my P-bass & installing a Tonepump. :D It'll be like a Coda-P Pro. ^_^ Now, if I could find someone to swap me an EMG P-bass pickup for my SD 1/4-pounder. :P

I am in the process of doing this with a Epiphone Thunderbird. Right now I already have EMG TBDC pickups installed with the delivered volume pots and passive tone pot. So quite like a J-bass. Sounds really great, more grind and treble to it now, with a decent EMG vibe without losing the T-Bird character. I really like the TBDCs. At first I was a bit underwhelmed because I somewhat hoped for typical EMG brittle growly goodness, but now after giving it some time I am pleased that the instrument has still kept it's special character.

I will be adding a regular Tonepump soon... that should be interesting.

I pulled the TP last night before heading out for Karaoke. I'll be getting it wired up tonight. :D BUT, I won't be able to test it until I go to my next jam on Sunday. >.< I should get a practice amp. lol
