Nice! Thx Donny. Anyone curious, that Sansamp RBI pre/SVT 6pro power setup is pretty legit; crazy pick grind and punch!

..I'm just hoping I didn't swerve off on rectifying my lingering cold/cough... my energy died about halfway in the set, ugh.. not too bad now tho

Back a few years ago...I had a whopper of a cold hit me the day of a Friday night gig. Before the gig I took soooo much cough syrup (Disregarded the label...more is better, right? ) that I was buzzzzzing and thought I was playing the worse performance of my life. After the gig I had so many people coming up to me saying that was the BEST bass performance that they heard me play ever! Haha :O Oh boy...

Before the gig I took soooo much cough syrup (Disregarded the label...more is better, right? ) that I was buzzzzzing and thought I was playing the worse performance of my life. After the gig I had so many people coming up to me saying that was the BEST bass performance that they heard me play ever! Haha :O Oh boy...

That was my approach to playing for most of the 80's.

Our drummer doesn't use the ole hickory hard sticks...he uses those sticks that look like a bunch of skinny sticks compressed together. A LOT easier on the ears but still projects great sound.

Ah, I have a set of those. Thunder sticks, or something like that. At least that's what they were called when bought my first pair 15 years ago. ^_^

I almost feel bad lugging that super heavy svt6 pro around just to use it as a power amp (I am bypassing the preamp completely)

hmm maybe a power amp is in my future, I'm just very stoked on the Sansamp tone. The RBI is way better than the sansamp pedal.. All of my spectors really shine through this.

The Tech 21 stuff is crazy good (IMO). I've had both the RPM and RBI in the past. I preferred the RBI. I still found it didn't give me the low end push I got used to with my GK's. I've been using my SVP-Pro lately and the bass EQ is set a little lower. The RBI always sounded awesome FOH though. I've had great luck with my Carvin powers FWIW. My rack, pre & amp are under 20lbs with 1500W.

The Crest Prolite 2.0 is getting great reviews too.

Yup I need a haircut ha..

That one is my newest, a Blue quilt NS2000/4 w/EMG 35P&J and the mighty mite pre, I tune it BEAD w/Hi-beams. The other one I played with was a Amber non-figured NS2000/4, same setup but tuned standard/drop D. No frills setup just amp/cab w/ my recently purchased a SVT 7 pro that shined really well that night.

Jeff, Happened to me once. Call EMG and ask if they will swap one for you... They did it for me.

Yup... Called EMG and talked to Derek.

Got an RMA number and as soon as they receive the LJAX they'll send me a SJAX. Easy peazy.

Thank You to the members who have sent me a private message about the SpectorHang 2014. We have a lot of folks planning on attending the event and one great suggestion just came up, if your going to attend this event alone and would like to share a room to cut cost we have a member who I can put you in touch with or feel free to discuss this in the room if your going to be solo and your interested in sharing a room.
WOW...we have members coming from all over the country ready to show there basses as well as see the basses of others! We also have guys who are interested in placing a order as soon as they get a chance to test drive other basses, some wanting to check out what Todd has at the store, others are ready to pick there new bass up at the HANG...sounds like a lot of activity will be taking place but the most important is getting to meet, greet, and get a chance to hang out with everyone and show our Spector collection.

I ran a Prolite 2.0 with 2 RBI for a bit, I had one set up clean, one set up dirty and it was a killer rig. I eventually found an all tube amp that caught my eye and sold the setup. The crest had tons of power through my 4 ohm cab and I'd recommend it as a lightweight inexpensive power amp to anybody.

I now play a Darkglass B7K and haven't been happier with my tone before (though I seem to say that with every new thing I buy nowadays). Though they don't sound like an Ampeg you can dial them in with the right amount of blend to have a solid bottom end with a nice mid growl.

Yeah, my thought would be to take off the drop tuner and see what number is behind it.

Its cool, but I prefer a simpler EQ section, that is one reason I use the RBI into the Power section of the SVT6 Pro

I played a Prolite 2.0 with 2 Sansamp RBI's for a clean/dirty blend for about 8 months and really liked the rig while I had it. I've since found my tone in Mesa amps and a Darkglass B7K but it was a great lightweight rig with that Ampeg/Sansamp sizzle everyone loves. I'd definitely recommend a Prolite 2.0 to someone looking for a lightweight high powered amp as it always had tons of power for my needs. Here's a pic that features my trusty Euro 5LX.
