I really like the idea of isolating a piece of the mids (sweepable) and overdriving that, leaving the rest of the signal unaltered.

Then you can blend that into the signal to taste. Plus you select one half or one full octave of mids to work on, adjust the amount of drive with a +10db boost to really kick it.

It's done within the pedal using the Mix knob.

I'm hoping to use this for a subtle grind for AIC, STP, etc., and use my B7K for the over the top stuff like Tool and Kings X. I'd like two distortion sounds with two pedals so I don't have to do any knob tweaking on stage.

I like to be able to separate out the highs from the lows and distort just the highs. Easy to do in the studio, but live is a whole different beast. I usually run two channels (recently) one for the bottom end to boom around adn another for the high distortion to fatten it up some. Might have to check out these pedals to see if they offer the same kind of funcitonality without making the sound guy raise his eyebrow at a bass with 2 channels.

You could do that with one of these. They aren't made anymore but you can still find them on Ebay. I have one myself.

Wow Todd...that had to be very tough to figure out what to sell out of your collection. That's the first time I'd seen a number to how many Spectors in your collection. WOW!

Wow!!! That has the most gorgeous maple flaming I've seen on a Euro model! I really like how they're running on an angle vs horizontal. Congrats on that awesome snag! :bassist:
