The whole bass is tuned to a regular BEADG.

The whole purpose of getting an uncomfortably heavy bass with a diving neck shaped as thick as a telephone pole in 35" scale was as a platform for a Killer B. The .142 is an important part of that complete breakfast.

You saw neck dive with a Euro 5? I can honestly say that I haven't experienced any neck dive on mine. I am using a pretty thick leather strap though so that might have something to do with it. I even just went in and tried it again just to see if any dive occurred, but it was balanced perfect for me.

hehe I have been working with my NS-2J so much lately, It has a Hipshot B type not the Spector bridge... I forgot about the NS bridges having a slotted I>O<I saddle not the "over the barrel" type saddle....

Really? Hmm, that is interesting, thanks. I would think the different scale lengths between the 4's and 5's would make it need a different case but that is good to know. Maybe that explains why my Euro 5LX is very snug in the leather gig bag I have since it probably works for all models.

When I sold my ReBop 5 W/O case, my Legend 4 fit nicely with no slop. PJ told me that the Spector bass NS body sizes are pretty close to each other now. That makes it easier for marketing the cases also.

Here's a post I made back in part 9 concerning the cases:

Be very carefull when buying these that you're getting the right size. The 4 string case is smaller overall. The 5 and 6 string cases have the same outer size, but the space for the bodies is different.

I almost ended up with the wrong size case for my new Euro 6 LX because when getting the Legend 6 ready to ship I got the cases confused at first. Because the Legend 6 has a one piece body it is about the same width as 4 string Spectors and will actually fit in the 4 string case. What I did not realize is the Euro and US bodies, because they are uniform wings (being about the same size for all neck throughs) glued on to the wider neck strip of my Euro 6, are much wider. My Euro 6 wouldn't fit in either the 4 or 5 string case.

I'm going to assume, from the looks of them in photos, that this is going to be the situation with all bolt on vs neck thru, 5 and 6 string Spectors.
Luckily I realized this before anything got shipped.

If you have any bolt-on NS style Spector, regardless of string count, get the 4 string case.
If it's a Neck-through Euro or USA NS style bass, you need the apropriate sized case for your string count.

As far as a one size fits all case over the last year...Wow!
I can't imagine a case that fits the USA or Euro neck-thru 6's (or 5's) being a good fit at all for the Legends, neck-thru 4's or any USA bolt-ons as my 4 string flops around terribly (as did my old Legend 6) in my case for my Euro 6.

I agree. My Spector 6 has the Poplar Burl top and I'm not nuts about the way it looks...but it sure does sing.

I think the Poplar Burl is really awesome looking! Glad to hear the good sound reports!

Yes and no. All the bolt on bodies, regardless of string number, are roughly the same size.
The neck throughs get wider as the string count goes up because it is uniform/same sized body wings being glued on to ever wider neck/fretboard planks.

My Legend 6 was the same width as my Euro and USA 4 strings. My (neck through) Euro 6 is much wider.

I don't hate it. I just prefer my basses to look a little less fancy. The gloss finish doesn't help (the looks. I prefer natural oil).

OK, now you're reaching and I never told him to "mash" it. Just squeeze it enough that the overall shape changes a little to fit. I do pro setups and I've done this on occasion (Warwick bridges are notorious for this) and it works. No problem with the string (and I like clean, sustaining, zingy strings). Case closed.

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. I've never heard such a string, so I can't say from experience that it sounds bad. It would surprise me if it didn't. That's all I should have said.

ReBops are deep set, but they are bolt-ons.
A "set neck" is glued into place.

NS-95 is a slightly different body shape. Not a true NS like the ReBop.

Mine are 1 year+ old. I just can't imagine a case that fits the neck through 6's properly being a good fit for the neck through 4's, 5's and all bolt-ons.

This is the Birdseye Poplar with an Amber finish. I'm not sure if Birdseye and Burl are the same thing.
And I'm sure each Birdseye is unique, so some may be quite nice.
