Whats up with Spector CS lately?? I emailed Sales and CS about a replacement bridge and haven't heard anything ( been 2 weeks for sales , 1 week for cs). Very not like them.....

I actually hope a bunch of people order Black Pearls... "Black Pearl" is a color scheme that can be applied to any USA Bolt-On or Neck Thru NS. And I'm trying to talk PJ and Stuart into doing it with the Coda.

The scheme is simply black gloss stain over quilt maple with a BEM fingerboard and black MOP inlays.

The Black Pearl is collectable being first in what I hope will be many more like it...

For me because I never plan on selling it... I can promise you I won't... it's one of the most beautiful NS-2s I've ever seen. And as a prime example of the artistry that Stuart puts into every one of his basses, I want to preserve it the best I can. I have other SPECTORs I can really enjoy and play... this one... I really enjoy looking at it.

Yeah... I had the chance to get the LAST NS-230 and at a really, really good price. But I passed because I'd NEVER want to play it. I've played the Black Pearl. At least once a day I play on it for 10-15 minutes, sitting in my chair... But I'd never wail on it or gig with it, etc... and that's bad enough.

I had PJ Rubal's NS-230 here at my studio for 3 months... it got sent in the fall and the weather got bad enough that PJ didn't want me sending it because of the hot/cold rain/snow situation. We waited until a mild week and I sent it overnight to him...

In the 3 months I had that guitar... I got handled 3 different times for 3 different photo-shoots. I always used soft cotton gloves to hold it and it NEVER got plugged in or played. Not one single note.

Talk about stressful having that thing here. LOL.

Oooooooo...a Coda 5 in the Black Pearl scheme?!? I'd order one!!! AND I'd play it!!!

Every time I took my Ian Hill out to gig I was so so careful and on pins & needles! :eeks: BUT as Murphy's law has it...at our band practice one day in my drummers pole barn(He owns a lawn care business so all kinds of equipment in there) I sat my IH in an ancient guitar stand(NO MORE! ) and it tilted back too far, before I could catch it, the headstock top edge barely rubbed the metal handlebars of his equip. and put a fine scratch across it! I almost hurled my lunch right on the spot! The IH was like new when I received it from GC! I bring my own stand now! And no where near machinery! :nono:
So I can definitely say," I know how you feel JPS".

Yup, ordered Sept 9th. Euro 5, green quilted maple, gold hardware, tonepump...I'm hoping it gets here before Christmas! Can't wait!

If you just make the commitment to save enough to make the 50% down payment to order one, that'll motivate you to get the rest. If you order thru Bass Central, talk with Beaver, he will work with you and cut ya an awesome deal.

+1 to the BC guys! I got the Webster for $2100 (INtro price, but they offer it at 2.8K now, which still beats the 3.2K suggested), and they were able to put it on hold for me for 2 months (max is 6) with only $150 committed. They do their best to make your dream a reality. Go for it!

Spector NS4H2-EX - either spalted maple top or redwood burl, either 2 J pickups or 2 EMG CS-TW humbuckers with single coil and dual coil modes, black Hipshot hardware or gold spector and schaller/gotoh tuners, OBP-3, hard case
Spector Euro 4LX Wimbish - gloss white or white stain with gold hardware, or chrome hardware, TonePump, gig bag

Please help me choose by the end of today!
