Anyone here used to play a MusicMan before he bought a Spector?
Damned, I want a Spector so badly.
The best would be a green Euro 5 LX, but the price, 2700$
There is a used Rebop for 1250$ at ebay.
I have 2 EBMMs but somehow I can´t sell one of it.
Can´t sell the 5 String cause it has a great sound + Fretboard LED´s
and the 4 String... cause I need a 4 String.
I live in germany, the prices are normal :/

What can i say i like effects haha! I use them sparingly though. Only when needed.
ok I'm curious how many members here are in a hard rock or metal band... what model Spector(s) they use and what other gear they use to get a nice heavy Spector growl
I guess my band could be considered hard rock. I use the above signal chain. In the studio i use Axe Fx for all my effects though usually.

Your new Alex is awesome and I know the blood graphic isn't everyone's favorite, but as the guy who designed it I really appreciate that you opted for it. Every time I see one of those bloody basses it makes me smile!

I played a MM Stingray 4. I sold it not too long ago though i still had it when i bought my Spector. I will admit they are nice basses, but Spector just does it for me! My Spector plays, feels, and sounds so much better to me. Its just "my" sound.
I put my Stingray on craigslist and sold it within a day.
I played a couple different EBMM at a GC after I had SPECTORS...just because I wanted to see what all the hoopla that a fellow musician was raving about. I kept plugging them into different amps to find a sound that I liked...it just wasn't there, for me. Just to save face & my club# here... know way was I looking to buy or replace my awesome SPECTORS! Whew!

I do, and my gear is in my signature. I love the Mesa bass gear as much as I do Spector. The 400+ just has such a warmth and presence. On it's way in oh, about 2 1/2 or so months is a Euro 5.

I did, a USA Sterling 5. Had a USA Sterling 4 as well. I like EBMM basses alot, especially the necks. They just seem to have a neutral tone (to my ears of course). I like the feel of my Spector, especially the body, but the Spector growl is a unique tone pallette that I just haven't heard on any other bass. It's a growl that I very much like, and it serves both my tone and what my band is doing perfectly.
tommixx, aren't you the guy I talked Spectors with on Ebay? I remember the Brooklin Spector....welcome to the club!

I think I get near that tone with the switch to serial. I have a Sterling and a Ray 5.
But I dont get THE growl,

Have you had a chance to play any? I'd definitely recommend that with, well any kind of bass, but if you're looking for growl, the Spector delivers.
I played a Rebop, Euro 5LX and a Mike Kroeger a while ago. Liked the Mike and the Euro, the Rebop was different, but I don´t remember how different.
Next month I try to play them again to make a final decision.
BTW. Played the Euro and took a Warwick Streamer 5 minutes later, they look almost the same but the WW was just lame ^^

I first had a honeyburst SR5 and that thing killed. I loved that bass. But I sold it to buy a 20 anniversary SR5 HH. That bass just didn't do it for me so I bought a Euro5LX from Bass Central. They had a couple new ones with "special pricing", what ever that means, at $1649. So I got the red one. The blue one is still on the website at that price. My Euro5LX is tonally everything my SR5 was and more but the Euro's playability is way way better. As much as I loved my first SR5 I no longer miss it.

Funny, but it was more the old Ibanez I had... I've never fallen asleep on one of my SPECTORs... nor has one ever been dropped. The only "damage" any of them has had was some light scratches to my Euro4LX from a video shoot and the little small dings on my WCR NS-4. So far the NS-2JA-R is holding up amazingly well.
But my old Stingray and my Ibanez SRX caught all sorts of heck. I'm just afraid to ever do that to one of my SPECTORs.
I've decided not to sell the NS-2JA-R anyway. For now...

Sorry but I am seriously slacking! I have a Phenomenal Doug Wimbish, a Brooklyn era SSD US NS5P, and a Kramer Era NS2. Will try and get some pics up at some point. Lately the Doug Wimbish is my main bass and I use the NS5P in the Studio a lot. The Kramer era is my doodle bass at home and is exactly like the one I originally bought in '87 or '88. Love them all and really wanting a US NS2!! Got an offer out to trade the NS5P for the Metallic Blue US NS2 listed in the For Sales here and waiting on a response with baited breath! For anybody else that has a US NS2 I may make the same offer...just saying...

Don't think it was me but could have been...I talk Spectors with a LOT of people here, there, and everywhere! LOL! I hear ya on the Avatar but the only thing that could get me to move the NS5P would be the right US Spector or the Amber NYC Sadowsky listed for sale here on TB....That thing is Hawt!
