That colour shows up terrible in photo's but looks awesome in person. I let one go locally that was on for an unreal price and have regretted it ever since. It's my favorite non-natural Spector finish.

great read hugh, i guess i need to find sometime this weekend to visit the dealer to actually try out the euro xl-tw.

Beauty bass!!!! The bridge is recessed, so as far as I know (limited knowledge of the NSCRs) - the bridges and screws are sturdy.

That's an awesome article and newsletter! I love how Spector is finally getting notoriety and recognition. Well deserved! Fenders not the only bass in the world!

This one would be very tempting.
Unfortunately, the traditional P positioning is a deal breaker for me.

I am a big proponent of the reversed P positioning. Ed Friedland explained it perfectly in his Bass Emporium review of the Euro LX (and other reviews of his I've read).

This is the one thing (IMHO) Leo got wrong in his original split coil P implementation. Spector (for the most part), along with several other upper end brands figured this out and rectified it. Even a few that use soapbar pickups and angle them mimick the reversed P effect by having them with the bass end more towards the bridge and the treble end more towards the neck. A few others angle them the other way (mimicking a traditional P) and that just has me scratching my head. A step back IMHO.

Funny... But nope... not even tempted. I know you're teasing, but you have no idea how honored I am that PJ and Stuart trusts me in this way.

These guitars are handled with soft cotton gloves on my hands (no joke, I use these gloves for handling some of the rare artwork I'm asked to photograph from time-to-time). They have been played, but very little. Mainly so I can get a feel for their necks and tone. So I can do reviews a little later for everyone. I've made careful neck measurements and will be adding this new technical info to the site this week.

The way I was raised... my cultural background; when you give someone your word it is something you must protect and follow-through with. For without honor, without a name that is good; you have nothing. I'm so pleased that I have been trusted with such a privilage.

The way these men conduct business (Stuart, PJ) is old-world style. They are men of integrity. I will protect these instruments as if they were my very own. Actually, I've been more careful than that. My honor requires no less. They have been so generous and kind to me. And in return they have earned my undying respect and loyalty.

Besides, there will be others. I've got a bead on one of the last available 30th Anniversary Spector basses. That's a collector's dream. In time I'll get the ones that I want to own. In time, with patience, all things can be done if you choose to do them.

Thanks, I couldn't resist. I took a few more, but honestly I choose to be behind the camera for a reason. I'm one of those guys who doesn't necessarily like being in the spotlight... (spoken like a true bassist huh?)

Finished it last night. It's just as beautiful as the others. Each of these basses is getting the "royal" photographic treatment. Including photos of the control cavities, etc... Every detail is getting captured. In addition I'm carefull measuring the fingerboard withs in mm and in US Standard (decimal point/inch). I'm measuring the nut, 12th and 24th fret and I'm measuring the neck thickness (front to back) of each at the center of the 1st and 12th frets.

This is going to be some cool stuff to have on the site. And so far no two basses have been identical. Close, but not the same. Also, ironically, the thinnest neck I've measured (front to back) has been my USA NS-4. 21mm at the 1st fret and 24mm at the 12th.

ABSOLUTELY! This is part of the plan. We plan on having "Official" wall paper downloads on the site, and

I've started working on a WordPress Blog which will be unofficial... just more my personal thoughts and some reviews (because obviously I am biased)... and there I will post some of the stuff that really isn't "official".

I did a shoot with the Red NS-2, my white NS2JA-R and the Blue NS-5XL. Not stuff that we would use because the NS-2JA-R is not in production anymore. But I have the idea to do some RED/WHITE/BLUE - USA Spector wallpapers. Just fun stuff. (again the NS-2JA-R is a Euro).

Also all the stuff I shot with the Ferarri and the different models.

I'll post a link once it's up. :-)
