I'd probably dig a fretless 5, but no lines though. I'm not sure they make them like that.

damn i would buy a couple@!@?! I love my Rex5 but I really wish it had some crown inlays euro hardware.. maybe we should all ask PJ to see if he can work something out with Stuart?

I own a 2004 Ltd Ed Warwick FNA Jazzman & two 2009 Spector Euro LX basses (4 & 5 strings).
The Euro Spectors blow the Warwick away in every single way. The Warwick is really quite versatile, but ultimately still sounds "woody". I far prefer the Spectors.

I owned two Warwicks (now only one) and two Spectors (now only one, but the new one is on its way...). Although they look similar (in particular case of Streamer and NS) they are different animals. To me the sound of 'wick is more raw and woody/earthy whereas Spectors sound more immaterial but powerful. It's similar to comparison of fire flames vs pure energy or, say, raw Scotch peat-filtered whisky vs triple-distilled Irish whiskey 
Anyway, I like all of them - each for its own purpose, like different colors of my sound palette...

Hi guys , need some info/help regarding the upper fret access on spector euro lx4 . Is it out of reach in the area of 23rd and 24th fret? could it reach with ease since the lower upper horn kinda restrict the finger to that register . seriously GASing for a spector lately as for now i am only drooling from a pic i saw at bass central . currently using EBMM Bongo 4 . I am use to have a 24 fret as my higher register mapping . kinda lost if i am short of 3 frets 
.appreciate if anybody could chime in . ?
and also whats the different interms of sound on reversed EMG p pickup compared to the regular EMG p ? tq

I was going to suggest this.Get the inlay stickers...... they're superb & you'd never know the difference!

They've been on for several months now, gigged all the time, and have not shown any sign of detaching on their own. When I did need to remove a couple for re-arranging they came off with only a little effort and left no residue.
I was thinking a 4 along those lines. Would black dye make the lines less perceptible?

A 35" scale Ian Hill... nice! How do you like it? And the Hill model has the narrower nut... not as narrow as the Wimbish, but narrower than the standard Euro.

I put a set of the Abalone vinyl inlays on my NS-2JA-R (white) and because the neck dot inlays are modeled after the 1983 model (those dots are smaller and the 12th fret dots are closer together), i was able to use a regular 12th fret vinyl sticker instead of the two smaller covers (which gives it away that they are stickers).
It's beautiful. A buddy of mine who is a big Spector geek was so confused when he first saw it. He knew it was a 1983 reissue model... but he suspected I had the inlays done on the neck custom. You really have to look closely to see that they are not real.
I put some on my Pro Classic 4 and they look beautiful.
If you want that inlay look, these decals do a wonderful job at $20 a set.
I am really enjoying the Ian Hill a lot. The 35" scale allows the strings to "speak" with a startling amount of clarity, punch, and depth. Very deep yet articulate, and yes it has the boost only Tone Pump electronics, so impressive that some may re-think their opinions of the Tone Pump if they were to hear it in this particular configuration.
Matter of fact I like it so much I have contemplated getting another to string up BEAD and have the "Haz Lab" electronics put in as I suspect it would be better suited to the low B by allowing the option of cutting tone vs. boost only.
The neck is really well crafted and comfortable, even with the extended 35" scale reach, and just feels like "home". One point of clarification, and mentioned above, is the neck spec being cloned from Ian's 80's bass neck dimensions refers to the front to back depth, and not the width at the nut. Being old school I tend to refer to "narrow" as a being a width description whereas this is what I would refer to as a "thin" neck (or depth measuring the front of the fingerboard to the back of the neck).
And in response to a couple of PM's here is how you tell that it is an actual "Ian Hill" model.

Where can one obtain these stickers? I have a spector legend that is just calling for a set, haha.
That Ian Hill is a beauty! I haven't really given much thought to the 35" scale 4-string because I figured the extra inch would make the first fret a little hard to reach. However, in looking at some pics, it looks like they actually moved the bridge back further on the body in order to increase the scale length so it should feel very similar to a 34" scale. That's cool! That's in contrast to their bolt-ons where it look like the bridge was actually moved forward from their typical position.

I wanna check out that Ian sig, as it's supposed to be based on a similar year model to my '85. But I've read his is anything from an '84 to an '86 or even '87, which two of those being Kramer-era, and would have a different neck profile.
